Adjusting Weight Distribution On 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee When It Reaches Aero Mode On Highway
Question:
i know im not that first to have this concern but i cant seem to get a straight answer. i have a 2015 summit and if i set my weight distribution hitch at the proper level wont the rig be thrown off when i get on the highway and my jeep automatically lowers as it goes into Areo mode? I measured the height difference and its significant both front and back axle and im concerned. Is there a way to override my summit from ever going into Aero mode in the first place while towing? Iv heard people suggest just leaving it in Sport mode which among other things puts the car in Aero mode all the time but im not sure towing long distance in sport mode is the best idea....help!

When you set your weight distribution system up on your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, it should be on a, even, flat surface. This would emulate you driving on the road and would be the correct setting for your system.
From my research I found that the 'Aero' mode lowers the Jeep .6 inches when it reaches 52 mph. That is really not enough to have a great concern with. My recommendation is to set up the trailer and system when it is as level as possible and if you find that there is significant difference when the vehicle reaches the Aero mode, adjust your hitch ball to the next highest adjustment which should be about 1-1/4 inches. That should eliminate the varied difference in height when driving over 52.
I recommend checking the owner's manual or with the dealership to see if there is a problem with setting it in Sport Mode when towing.
