Can a Reese Elite Series Under Bed Installation Kit be Installed on a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500

Question:

I have a Reese RE 18 5th wheel hitch that was given to me. Can the RP30868 under bed hitch kit be installed in my 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 8ft truck bed. If not what hitch kit do I need? Thank you!

The Reese Elite Series under bed installation kit # RP30868 is not a fit for your 2006 Chevy Silverado. Reese does not make a kit that will fit your truck. We do have numerous installation kit options that will fit your truck but a hitch that fits in the Elite puck system would not work with them. I have included a link to the 5th wheel hitch and install kit main page for your truck.

If it were me I would go with custom installation kit # C16418-204 and Curt Q20 hitch # C16130. This hitch features a full floating, cushioned head for ease of hook up and improved ride quality. I have linked a video on the Q16 which has the same features as the Q20. the only difference is capacity.
