Carrying Cargo on the Roof of a Chevy HHR with Naked Roof
Question:
I have a chevy hhr 2009 but it does not have any existing hardware / rails to attach your Kurt basket. Do you have mounting kits? What would you recommend?

All of the roof racks available for the 2009 Chevy HHR are for models that have factory installed rails that run front to back, so they will not work on your model with the naked roof. In order to carry cargo on your roof you would need to use a cargo bag such as # RL100S30.
This bag will attach to a vehicle with or without any type of roof rack. To avoid having to run straps through the interior you could add car clips # RL100600. I also recommend protective pad # RL100650 which will not only protect the vehicle roof but also keep the back in place while driving.
Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual and/or Chevy for the roof weight carrying capacity prior to loading,
