Compatibility of Swagman Original # S64400 Bike Rack with Beach Cruisers

I was want to get this rack for our Beach cruisers, would it work for our bikes or only youth and mountain bikes?

If your bikes weigh 35 lbs or less apiece, the Swagman Original # S64400 would be compatible. Getting 4 Cruiser bikes on the rack at the same time could be a little challenging, but if you alternated the direction each subsequent bike faced and made sure the bike's pedals were indexed properly, they should fit. The Eclipse is what I'd consider an entry-level rack that would be best suited for occasional use and short distances of travel, due to its hook and loop straps and lack of anti-sway cradles.

For frequent use and longer travel, I'd recommend going with a rack that uses sturdier rubber straps to secure the bikes into the cradles and anti-sway cradles that would prevent the bikes from swinging back and forth and striking each other. The Swagman Trailhead # S63380 would be a fine alternative for more frequent use.

If you'll be transporting women's bikes or bikes with sharply-angled top tubes, you might also consider a frame adapter bar like part # 64005. The bar spans the distance between the handlebar gooseneck and the seat post, which provides a secondary attachment point for the bike rack. This allows the bike to be carried level, which maximizes ground clearance.
