Parts Needed to Install Brakes on 2002 Interstate Cargo Trailer
Question:
I have a 2002 Interstate VAL-58SAFS cargo trailer that I want to equip with electric brakes. It has a Dexter axle 2500# with 5x4-1/2 wheels. Could you please advise what size brakes and/or part numbers to accomplish this? The trailer is used in the Colorado Rockies frequently and is used to transport materials for art fairs and is usually loaded to max gross weight. Thank you for your previous service.

In order to suggest the correct parts for you, I'll need some information about existing parts on your trailer. I'll need to know:
-Do your existing axles have the 4-bolt brake mounting flange on them?
-What's the inner and outer wheel bearing reference numbers?
-What diameter wheels are you currently using?
Once I have this information, I'd be happy to make some recommendations for you. If you click the provided link, you can see the whole run-down on what would be involved.
