Can a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe Tow a Horse Trailer
Question:
Hi, my friend is trying to use his 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe to tow a 2 horse light trailer. I do not know the actual weight of this trailer, but with 6 cylinder 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe, I think it will not. He send an image of your product after searching at the web site. Based on your expertise, can this be possible,

Your friend will first to consult the vehicle owners manual of his 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe to see what the towing capacity is for his specific model. If the towing capacity of the vehicle and the trailer hitch used exceed the gross trailer weight then the Santa Fe would be able to tow the trailer.
The Curt trailer hitch # C13073 is rated for 350 pounds tongue weight and 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight. Given the average weight of a horse this probably means that only one horse could be transported in the horse trailer provided the vehicle is rated as high as the hitch.
I also recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
And for trailer wiring use # 118415. I have included links to videos that show how the hitch and wiring install.
