Recommended Slider Fifth Wheel For 2015 Toyota Tundra With Tow Package
Question:
I want to upgrade to a fifth Wheel. Looking at the Grand Design 27RL or 29RS. I have the Toyota Tundra TRD, Double Cab w/62inch bed, and towing package. I realize I am very close to the max load for my truck. Which FW hitch should I consider OR is trying to tow a FW with a 1/2 ton truck just a bad option??

You will want to check your owner's manual or with your dealership to make sure you know the towing capacity of the hitch and your 2015 Toyota Tundra.
We have several fifth wheel hitches that will work well for you. The hitch I recommend is the Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R24 Slider, part # C16546. This fifth wheel has a 2-jaw locking system that provides a 360 degree jaw around the king pin which means less rattle. This has a gross towing weight capacity of 24,000 lbs and the slider front to back travel is 12 inches.
I also recommend the custom rail installation kit, part # C16468-204. Using a custom kit means the installation time is cut in half. This kit includes the brackets, rails, and hardware needed for installation. This will not work with trucks that have a Flareside or Stepside bed, or the CrewMax models.
If you need a wiring harness in the bed of your truck for your fifth wheel I recommend the Pollak Custom Fit Wiring, part # PK11893-11932. This allows you to retain the 7-way you have on the rear of your truck and then also provide a 7-way connector for the fifth wheel in the bed of the truck.
