If the 7-Way trailer connector on your 2006 Chevy Silverado is the factory 7-Way located above the bumper next to the license plate, then you can use # PK11916 as a direct replacement that will fit in the same place as the OEM connector.
If your truck had a 7-Way added as an aftermarket part, then you would need # HM40975 which will not fit in the factory 7-Way location. I have linked video installations of both connectors for you.
If the connector or wires that plug into the back of the connector are damaged, then you can use # PK11998. But the wires on it will need to be hardwired to the vehicle. You will need a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to determine the functions of the vehicle wiring. The functions of the replacement harness are as follows:
Red - Left Turn and Stop
White - Ground
Blue - Electric Brakes
Green - Right Turn and Stop
Black - Battery
Brown - Running Lamps
Yellow - Backup Lamps
