Replacement Rubber Block for Base Rail Installation of TracRac Sliding Ladder on a 2009 Ford F-150

Question:

Can these rubber blocks be installed or made tight once and can these blocks be installed and removed later and re-installed? I have to remove my Track Rack SR rails due to the rubber stickies sliding out.

The replacement rubber blocks # TARB-11032-1 for your TracRac SR sliding truck bed rails # TH21501 can be removed once installed. But I wouldn't recommend removing and re-installing often because the rubber blocks tend to dry out. It's a good idea to periodically check and retighten all fasteners and the torque on the rubber expansion blocks # TARB-11032-1 (usually every 4 months). This may be a reason your rubber tape strips are sliding out right now.

Since you will remove your rails, I recommend placing a thin strip of rubber tape or roofer's tape on the underside of the plastic shim before you re-position the base rails on your 2009 Ford F-150. A fresh coat of wax is also recommended because it reduces friction and chafing over time.

Also, tape or glue the brass pocket nuts to the rubber expansion blocks before inserting them into the stake pockets of your truck. This will insure that you don't drop the nuts into the stake pockets when you loosen them to remove the rails.

View the instruction link for the base rails # TA21501 because there are some great tips in there.
