Troubleshooting Check Trailer Service System Error Message on a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD
Question:
We have several 2015 2500HD 6.6 Trucks. We have tried many different trailers. As soon as we plug the trailer up to the truck. The in dash display says to check trailer service system. All our 2014 model chevy 2500 HD work. What is the reason our new trucks throw this display

From the research I did your best option will be to take the truck back to the dealer to have them address the problem as there were some problems with the integrated brake controllers in the newer trucks.
I also read that the error message will display for about 10 seconds upon initial connection of the trailer wiring and then will go away.
In some cases if you are using trailers with electric over hydraulic brake systems you will need to upgrade the controller to one that is compatible with that type of system. For that you would want the P2 Brake controller part # 90885. See attached help article.
