Front Hitch Recommendation for a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 4WD
Question:
will the front tow hooks need to be removed for an installation on a 2012 ram 1500 4 wd? Also- is there a way to install that will not reduce ground clearance?

The OEM tow hooks of your 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 4WD will need to be removed to install the Curt Front Hitch part # 31374 that you referenced. Good news is this hitch comes with tow hooks welded to it, so you won't be without them.
Also, ground clearance will only be reduced by about 1 inch. The fascia will need to be slightly trimmed to accommodate the hitch opening, so realistically it won't hang much lower than the front fascia.
