Recommendation for a Transmission Cooler On a 1992 Dodge B250 Van Towing Landscape Trailers
Question:
I purchased a t-one wiring harness & ball mounts for our 92 Dodge Van B250 5.2 V8 from your company in the past, I am very pleased with your service. We now need the proper cooler, is the derale d13504 a good choice? And is skiping the factory cooler in the lower radiator recommended? We have 95+ degree days in Florida pulling heavy landscape trailers.

Yes, the Derale Transmission Coolers for the 1992 Van by Dodge, item # D13504, would be a great choice for cooling your transmission while towing. The only suggestion I would make is that you measure the space available in front of your radiator or a/c condenser to make sure there is space for the install. I am sure there is room on your van but double check to be safe.
The overall dimensions of the # D13504 Transmission Cooler are 11 inches wide by 12 inches tall and 7/8 inches thick.
This cooler is designed to work inline with your factory cooler and I would not recommend by-passing the factory cooler. You can never cool the transmission fluid too much.
Since you are towing heavy loads in a warm humid environment you may also want to install a engine oil cooler. The Derale Stacked-Plate Engine Oil Cooler Kit w/ Spin-On Adapter (3/4-16 Threads) - Class III, item # D15651, will work on your vehicle and allows for relocation of the oil filter to a more accessible location. You will need to measure to make sure there is room for this installation also.
