Troubleshooting Prodigy P3 Brake Controller that Stopped Functioning
Question:
I have a P3 on my 06 2500 HD and its been great for the past few years but recently it will not shut off at all. Usually it would take 15 minutes, but I can come out in the morning, open the door and its still on. also the screen is a fuzzy greenish blue and thats it. Starting the vehicle, hitting the brakes, or attaching the trailer I get nothing then a lit up fuzzy green screen. No workds, no turning red without trailer attached, no nothing. Thoughts?

Sounds like your P3 Brake Controller part # 90195 has shorted out and needs to be replaced.
Normally when a brake controller doesn't go into sleep mode after 15 minutes of activity the problem is that there is corrosion on the trailer connector that causes a slight draw on the controller that needs to be cleaned off.
Since your controller isn't working at all and the screen appears messed up it sounds like it has shorted out and needs to be replaced.
