How to Find a Brake Light Only Circuit on a Vehicle for Wiring Up Third Brake Light

Question:

Your wireing harness on the input vehical side has a WHITE ground wire connected in common with a Red wire labled STOP! I do not understand . They have been connected to body ground. I have a center third light in the rear window and need to find a third light wire to connect to a spoiler with a light. Can you explain and help find the third light wire on my 2015 Dodge Dart Limited?

The # C56179 is for installing trailer wiring on a vehicle so it would not be the correct kit for you. The easiest way to find a brake light only circuit on your vehicle would be to either tap into the circuit that runs to your current third brake light, or use a taillight converter like part # 118158.

You would run the input side to the stop/turn circuits of your vehicle like the box is labeled, and then on the output side the red wire would be a dedicated brake light signal.
