Brake Controller and Install Harness Recommendation for a 2013 Land Rover Evoque
Question:
I used your site to buy a brake controller for my 2013 Rangerover Evoque. Your site said the unit was compatible with the Evoque and that the accompanying cable was appropriate. I couldnt find the connector under the dash. I went to Landrover today. They told me there is no connection, the device must be hard wired into the car harness. Your site was misleading and made me think that this was an easy install. You should make it clear to Evoque owners that this is not a plug and playinch effort. Its a $500 worth of labor installation.

I spoke to my contact at Tekonsha and he said that the port for installing a brake controller on your 2013 Range Rover Land Rover Evoque is under the dash near the center console. He said that all models of your vehicle should have the port. My contact at Curt who also makes brake controllers confirmed the same thing.
I attached a video that shows how the # 3035-P harness will install in a similar vehicle. My contact at Tekonsha said that the port will be in the same place on your vehicle. You may have to dig around a bit under the dash to find it but it will be there.
