The Topline Truck Bed Mounted Bike Carrier, part # UG2500, is made of a couple different materials. The main bars are made of aluminum. The clamp that attaches to the bed rail is a black painted aluminum clamp. The clamps that attach to the bike frames are made of plastic with soft rubber pads as to not scratch the bike frames.
I spoke with the installer that did the video you were watching about this kit and he said he was impressed with it. He said it worked really well for the size and weight.
