Installing Brake Controller Blue Brake Output Wire on a 1998 Chevy C/K 1500 Series Pickup Truck
Question:
I have a 1998 chevy 1500 extended cab, I am installing an electric brake controler. I found the blue trailer brake wire blanked off in the left rear frame rail to use in the 7 pin connector, the only problem I have is I can not find the other end of this blue wire. I have looked under the dash a around the fuse box near the master cylinder under the hood but I cant seem to find it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

On your 1998 Chevy C/K series pickup that blue wire is difficult to access to the point that we recommend bypassing it, or at least where it terminates inside the truck. Instead you can use some wire, # 10-1-1, attach it to the end that is accessible, and run it up into the engine compartment and through the firewall to the brake controller blue wire.
The 10-1-1 wire is sold in increments of 1 foot. So if you needed a 10 foot length you would put 10 in the quantity box. I have included a link to a video as well that might be helpful to you.
