ST205/75-15 Trailer Tires for Use in Arizona Heat

Question:

Both Kenda and Loadstar build a ST 205-75R15 trailer tire. The Kenda sells for about $16 more than what I can buy the LoadStar tire for. Are these the same tires or is there a difference in quality or characteristics between the two tires. Im in Arizona, so hot weather performance is my concern

Kenda and Loadstar are the same other than the name on the sides of the tires. They are owned by the same manufacturer. I am not sure why the Kenda you are referring to costs more. One thing that affects price is the load range of the tire and whether it is a bias ply or radial.

Since heat is a concern for you I strongly recommend radial tires because they run cooler. Also, trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum psi indicated on the tire. This is because trailer tires are built with an extra thick sidewall to handle more vertical load. If under inflated the thicker sidewall cause excessive heat build up.

I have included a link to the tires we have in size ST205/75-15 and a link to our help article on trailer tires for you.
