Installing Brake Controller And Plug-In Adapter On 2003 Ford F-250
Question:
Part #90195,3035-P I have a 2003 Ford F250 6.0 diesel. The pig tail that connects the controller box to the truck has a plug in that snaps into the controller box. The other end in the photos is shown as just wires and also with a male end that snaps into the tow wiring of the truck? Which is it? Does the wiring adapter come with a end that you just snap into the truck or do you have to splice the wires into the truck wiring harness? I hope it is the latter. I located the tow plug female end in the truck but it appears that I cannot move it to allow the male end just to snap in. Can you provide any assistance with this? Tks

For your 2003 Ford F-250 the Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller, part # 90195 with the Tekonsha Plug-In Adapter, part # 3035-P should make the connection under the dash very simple. At times the truck connector can be taped, zip-tied, or just tucked up among the wiring under the dash. You will have to remove the cover to get to the connector as the attached installation video shows. Sometimes it is a bit tough to get the plug to move but it can be moved to allow you to just plug in the adapter.
If you do not have a factory 7-way connector at the rear of your truck you can use part # 37185 which will give you a 4-way and a 7-way connector at the rear of your truck. You simply plug the 4-way connector you have on your truck to the # 37185 and with a couple of more wires connected to the wiring on your truck as shown in an attached video, will complete the wiring at the rear of your truck.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
