Specs:
This unique mount from Gen-Y Hitch includes a ball mount that can be easily positioned in one of the 5 stacked receivers that sits along the vertical shank of the unit. This dual-ball mount lets you tow a trailer with a 2" ball coupler or a 2-5/16" ball coupler.
Also included is a pintle lock, which can be inserted into the receiver directly above the ball mount to create a pintle hitch for hooking up a trailer with a lunette ring. Unlike other adjustable pintle hooks on the market, there are no nuts and bolts to remove and retorque when you change the positioning of this hitch. Just move the ball mount and pintle lock up or down to get the proper height and secure them in place with the included pins.
With the 5 stacked receivers, not only do you have the ability to adjust the height of the included ball mount, but you also have the ability to add various other hitch-mounted accessories.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Gen-Y adjustable 2 ball mount with the pintle lock and the 12 inch drop or rise for a 3 inch hitch. And this has a 32,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this is an adjustable ball mount that'll let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The shank portion right here is what'll slide into your 3 inch hitch receiver on your vehicle. And then up front, you have your choice of either a 2 inch diameter ball or a 2 5/16 diameter ball which'll provide the connection points for your trailer coupler.
Now, with this part, if you notice this also includes this pintle lock accessory. When this is paired with the larger 2 5/16 diameter ball it's gonna provide a nice connection point for a lunette ring coupler. And the lunette ring couplers, I just want to pop up an insert to show you what we're talking about, on some of the large, heavy-duty trailers, they'll use that lunette ring. If you notice in the picture there, it's designed to drop over the ball, but when it drops over that, you wanna make sure it stays on there and doesn't come loose. You use this pintle lock accessory right here.
And just to show you how you would do that is you would just take out your clip and your pin, slide this back out of the way, and then you'll make your connection with your lunette ring over the ball. Once it's in place, then you'll slide this over the lunette ring and then take your pin, once you get it lined up, put the clip in there and that locks it into place. And you can see it's locked there and keeps the ring from coming up over the ball. So if you're not gonna use it for our lunette ring, you can actually just also store it away. It gives you a second hole that you can slide this back, put your pin and clip through there, go ahead and insert.
Now you can see it's out of the way and you can use it for a regular coupler. Now the capacity in this will be determined by the ball size that you use. So if you use this larger 2 5/16 diameter ball, gross towing weight capacity is gonna be 32,000 pounds, maximum tongue weight of 3,500 pounds. If you use the, if you flip this around and use the 2 inch diameter ball, gross towing weight on that is 16,000 pounds, maximum tongue weight of 1500 pounds. If you notice this has 5 stacked 2 1/2 inch size receivers, these will accept the included ball mount and pintle lock, like we showed you, as well as other hitch mounted accessories.
It does come with the 2 3/4 inch diameter stainless steel pins and clips and those are included to secure the ball mount to the shank, the pintle lock to the shank. And what's nice about these, I really like these clips on these. If you notice, when I use them, they're very easy to remove or install. They're called a twist design. It's a really nice design. Instead of the straight clips which sometimes are a pain to try to install, this has a little twist clip on it, and the way you get it off is just by twisting it just like that, comes right off, slide your pin out. And then when you go to install it, just push it. And as you push it, it'll twist and clip right into place. Very easy to take off or install. Now, this does give you an adjustable height. This will let you tow trailers of different heights with the same vehicle, works well if you have a lifted truck, basically this ball mount can be lowered or raised to match your application. Now, if you do use this in the lowest position right here that's the maximum drop, it gonna be 12 inch drop. If you do flip the shank over into the rise position and then use this in the highest position it'll get you maximum rise of 12 inches. And just to show you how the ball can be, slide the pin and clip out for the ball mount and you can see that slides right out, and I'm gonna turn it over to use the 2 inch. And I'm just gonna slide it back in the same place. But as I mentioned, you could put it in the height you need. Once we slide it in far enough, and we get the hole to line up, There we go, slide our pin all the way through, take our clip, again, it's just twist on, and just like that, now you're ready to go with the 2 inch. So pretty easy to choose what ball size and what height to use. This is a heavy-duty steel construction. They do use a zinc primer and a black powder coat on the 2 ball mount and the pintle lock. The shank is a primer with a durable silver vein epoxy powder coat on the shank to resist corrosion. Now, when you do install this into your hitch receiver it will require a hitch pin and clip or hitch lock to secure it to the hitch receiver. Those are not included. We do sell those separately on our website and they do give you two different size pin holes. You can either use the 3/4 inch size or the smaller 5/8 inch diameter. This part is SAE J684 certified. It is made in the USA. Application again, it fits 3 inch by 3 inch trailer hitch receivers. And one last note I do want to mention, because this ball mount has many different dimensions to it, I do recommend for you to go to the product page of this part number to verify any dimension that may be needed for your application. We do list it on the product page. But that should do it for the review on the Gen-Y adjustable 2-ball mount with the pintle lock the 12 inch drop and rise, for a 3 inch hitch..

Insert this heavy-duty mount into your 3" hitch to get 5 stacked 2-1/2" receivers for mounting the included 2" ball, 2-5/16" ball, pintle hook, or other hitch-mounted accessory. Tongue weight is 3,500 lbs.Super Duty hitch with enough drop for my 2022 F250 with 6” Lift and 37” tires
Fantastic!0
A little heavy when installing
This thing is a beast! Well built!
Its stout and pulls my 7X16 foot enclosed trailer, fully loaded with 8,000 pounds, without any issue. I don't even know that its back there. I have a diesel Ram 2500 with an 8 inch lift and the hitch drops level with the trailer. 5 stars!!
This hitch has been used with both balls in every height position. Hitch is durable and high quality. It has not been off my truck since I purchased it and is used frequently to tow 10-20K trailers.
Product is pretty awesome. very well built. We use in the marine shop for towing 42-50ft 25k+ boats. This is the first product to withstand the requirments. The pintle is so simple and keeps the shop truck from having to swap a standard ball and P-hook between different trailer applications. Highly recommend for the serious user. Its HEAVY so handling the product is a chore but reliability is definatly there. if you buy locking pin for hitch, buy the strongest you can find. We damaged one with this product.
This is great. Heavy duty, quality product. will use to tow my toad behind my RV & bike rack for bikes above tow bar
Everything you want in a hitch in this class.
This hitch is the last one I should ever have to buy. It is well worth the money and should last a long time. I pull 10,000lb trailers and it works out well. No rattling or clanking with this hitch.
Awesome heavy duty hitch, ordered some locking pins for just incase someone felt strong enough to to take it.
By far the most heavy duty hitch I have ever purchased. Could tell whwn I picked up the box it was well built! Just got it on when I got home from work and haven't used it yet, but it will definitely get tested tomorrow. I will post pics later. If you are on the fence, get it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Haven't used it yet but it looks great! 19 f250 with 8" lift and 37's. The 12 drop is perfect
Simpliflies the work of switching between ball sizes. And will minimize damage from others if struck in the rear.
This is a well built long lasting hitch.
the product looks great. Everything was as described and it looks very durable. The color looks better in person than in the photos.
Packaging could be better. Brand new expensive hitch and because it’s packaged poorly there are dings and scrapes and missing coatings on the flats where it’s been banged around. There again this is a bad ass hitch and extremely sturdy and well built. This is a tool and meant to work so the dings aren’t a big deal really if you’re going to use it as such but if you’re wanting show truck sparkle this didn’t suffice. I know these spots where the hitch has been dinged will rust.
Everyone was helpful to order and help towards getting an account set up for the business.
Great product. Very stout, but also very heavy. Only complaint is the weight, particularly because I am not a full time trailer “tower” so I install/remove frequently. Definitely peace of mind in terms of not having to worry about ball mount issues with 2500#+ tongue weight.
I have both ball and pintle hitch Trailers. That is why I bought this hitch. The hitch it self is well built but the Paint job is not that great . I have had it a year and most of the paint on the Shank ( another reason I bought it for the 3" shank to fit my receiver on my ford Superduty) is pretty much gone. The hitch it self still clanks around in the receiver .I wish there was an adaptor to fit over the Larger ball so that my pintle eye would not move around so much.
