The majority of rooftop mounted accessories such as bike racks and kayaks carrier are universal meaning that a Thule bike rack will work on a Yakima roof rack and vice versa.
If you are looking for a roof rack that is compatible with the greatest variety of rooftop mounted accessory, I recommend using the Inno Square Crossbar System part # INB127, part # INSUT, part # INK758 as square crossbars are generally compatible with a greater variety of rooftop accessories in comparison to round/aero... view full answer...

So I do have another solution, however adding a ramp to your Thule T2 Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier for 1-1/4" Hitches # TH917XT which is no longer available, is not an option.
I know it isn't ideal, but the only real solution is to replace your bike rack with another rack that is compatible with a ramp accessory like the Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # NV22G, which can use the ramp accessory # ANVBRB.

Curt used to require the stabilization strap part # 18050 when using a bike rack or accessory on their Class I hitches. However, they have since said the stabilization strap is not required when carrying an accessory on their Class I hitches. It still may be a good idea to use a stabilization strap though when carrying accessories because they are considered all tongue weight on the hitch because of they a downward for on the hitch compared to towing a trailer that has evenly distributed... view full answer...
In a situation where an accessory, like the Thule Roadway 4 Bike Carrier, # TH914XT, will not properly fit a trailer hitch, it could be a couple of different issues. Since the trailer hitch on your Subaru Forester is a Class I trailer hitch, a Class II accessory will not fit. The Roadway is designed to work with Class I or II 1-1/4 inch trailer hitches.
Another potential issue that comes up is the paint or powder coat on the accessory going into the hitch may make it a tight fit. If this... view full answer...

While both Class I and Class II hitches have the same 1 1/4 inch opening, they have different towing and weight capacities. Manufacturers sometimes build a stopper inside the Class I hitch receiver to prevent Class II accessories from fitting inside. This is because Class II hitches usually have a higher towing capacity and manufacturers want to prevent users from unknowingly overloading their Class I hitch with too much weight/stress from the Class II... view full answer...
In order to carry 3 bikes on your 2009 Toyota Highlander, you will need to use a trailer hitch. None of the trunk mount bike racks will fit your vehicle. A trailer hitch has many other uses above and beyond a bike rack. You can also tow trailers, travel trailers, can pop up campers, and you can also use other accessories such as a trailer hitch mount cargo carrier.
For a trailer hitch I recommend # 75586. This is a Class III trailer hitch that will allow you many options for bike racks... view full answer...
While you can utilize other Thule accessories like the Thule Hull-A-Port Kayak Carrier # TH834 or the Thule UpRide Bike Rack # TH599000, you cannot mount those accessories onto the Thule Canyon XT # TH859XT itself. This is because the bars on the basket are too small to accommodate the clamp-on mounting brackets of these accessories. Also, Thule (or any other roof rack manufacturer) does not make any clamps that can allow you to use these accessories on the small bars.

Yes, Curt trailer hitch # C11381 will fit your 2011 BMW 550! Also, with a bike rack, you are limited to 2 bikes maximum on a Class I hitch.
Curt also says you have to use stabilization strap # 18050 when using this hitch for any non-trailer load (such as a bike rack or cargo carrier) per their warranty requirements. I... view full answer...
There are a couple reasons you cannot drill a hole in the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount, part # D210.
First, you would void any warranty for the mount and probably the accessory you want to use with the ball mounted in the # D210. Secondly, the top receiver opening is not designed for a hitch ball. It is made to be used with an accessory like a cargo carrier or a bike carrier. The bottom hitch ball mount is the only part of the item that is designed to be used with a trailer.

It is almost a certainty that using two hitch-mount accessories at the same time on your 2010 Traverse will result in interference between the two carriers themselves and/or the bikes and cargo loaded on them. There are no cargo carriers that have a receiver tube on their back to allow for piggy-backing a second hitch-type accessory such as a bike rack. These do not exist because such an arrangement would place extreme stress on the hitch and vehicle frame and would be likely to damage... view full answer...
Curt requires a stabilization strap for all Class I hitch mounted accessories to relieve stress that is put upon the hitch while carrying hitch mounted accessories.
To utilize the Curt Support Strap # 18050 on your Swagman XTC-2 simply loop the strap through your bike(s), then around the upright mast of your bike rack and attach it to the trunk of your 2013 Honda Accord. If you have the Crosstour model then attach the hook to the lower edge of the rear lift gate.

The MaxxTow Ball Mount w/ 2" Accessory Receiver - 2" Hitches - 2-1/4" Drop - 5,000 lbs # MT70066 when using both the ball mount and bike rack together will not impact the tongue weight rating of your hitch receiver. This will work for you based on the weights you gave.
If you use the ball mount portion alone, the tongue weight also isn't impacted. It is only when you use the accessory hitch receiver alone that the additional torque is added and the tongue weight of your hitch is altered. view full answer...
