Since there can be many connectors under a vehicle dash, I suggest you test the connector you've found to confirm it is indeed for a brake controller. A brake controller port will have four wires/contacts and one of these will carry 12V at all times, and another will carry a signal ONLY when you press the brake pedal. Congrats on winning the trailer! Even though your teardrop is small and light I still recommend the higher-capacity hitch option from Draw-Tite, part # 76031, since it offers an easier installation than the lower-rated Curt model # C13126. Extra capacity translates into more safety margin, which is always a good thing in towing applications.
