All vehicles now have the passenger's side mirror as a convex mirror which is why that warning is on them. The towing mirror set # LVT-2300-C uses flat glass which is the same as the driver's side stock mirror. When placed next to each other some people think that the flat glass in the towing mirror is magnifying things when actually it is the stock mirror's convex glass that is distorting the image.

In other words they are all the type that have glass like a passenger side mirror (objects in mirror are closer than they appear). If the one that looks distorted is on the driver side then what you are noticing is the the difference between regular flat glass placed right next to convex glass.
