Thanks for the pictures! The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C13381 you were looking at is a confirmed fit for all models of the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan. It looks like VW has added some extra trim pieces for the R-Line model. Those will need to be removed or at the very least trimmed down significantly for the hitch receiver to be installed. In order to install the # 306-X7395 EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver on your 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan you will need to remove the bumper fascia as well as the bumper cross member.
The # 306-X7395 will replace the cross member and the bumper fascia will be reinstalled over the hitch. You will not reattach the bumper cross member. I recommend saving it should you need it for some reason at a later time.

Some of the 2021 VW Tiguan models have a different bumper set-up which means that the factory bolts and weld nuts typically used to install the hitch won't be present. It is not recommended to use a different power supply for the Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT. The 12V power wire is designed to be run directly from the battery to ensure correct voltage and correct amperage while avoiding the vehicle fuses and relays. Although it is possible that rear power supply could work, it has not been tested for that application, so it is not recommended.

I have a solution for you. In order to mount the Rightline Gear Car Top Duffel Bag # RL100D90 to your vehicle with crossbars, you will have to mount the bag vertically (pointing toward the front/rear of the vehicle). and use the straps to either attach to your doors or to your rails on your vehicle. Any brake controller should be on a separate pin from the turn/brake light circuits so using the 7-Way Trailer Adapter # C57003 should not activate the brakes on your trailer (see attached picture).
