  • Can an Anti-Rattle Device Be Used in Upper Receiver of MaxxTow Dual Hitch Extender MT70070
  • I'm assuming you're speaking of an anti-rattle device. Many anti-rattle devices depend on the receiver tube to have a lip around it. The Roadmaster # RM-061 or the Brophy # RSCP are examples of this type. An anti-rattle device like the # 63232 doesn't depend on the receiver tube having a lip in order to work. Keep in mind that a dual-hitch adapter like the MaxxTow MT70070 will lower the tongue weight capacity of the hitch its used in by 50 percent.

  • Can SportRack Roof Rack Remain Installed On 2005 Toyota Corolla For Extended Period
  • Since the SportRack Roof Rack # SR1002 is a semi-custom fit, I would recommend removing the rack anytime you are not using it. I also recommend treating the rubber door seal so that it remains pliable and will not be so easy to mash down.

  • What Size Fasteners are Used to Install a Draw Tite Hitch on a 2010 Toyota Corolla
  • The bolts included with the hitch # 24913 are M12-1.25x30 mm. Most likely you have the correct hardware and the weld nuts just need further cleaning. Cleaning weldnuts out on a vehicle in order to install a trailer hitch takes a lot of time and elbow grease. Basically the weldnuts may appear to be clean but getting all of the grime out can take longer than you might think. Make sure you are use a lubricant like WD-40 or PB Blaster. Check out he video and FAQ article I attached to the...

  • Thread Tap Size Needed To Clean Out Weldnuts in Frame for Hitch Installation on 2005 Toyota Corolla
  • The Curt Class I hitch, part # C11227 uses an M12-1.25x30 bolt. The bolt is 12mm in diameter, the thread pitch is 1.25 (meaning the threads are 1.25mm apart) and 30mm long. You'd need a M12-1.25 thread tap. If you haven't tried scrubbing out the weldnuts, you might try that first. Our installers have found that a steel brush like the one included with the # DW00254 battery terminal cleaner works very well. Soak the threads with a penetrating lubricant and allow it to soak for awhile before...

  • Do the Cradles on the SportRack Trunk Bike Carrier Move While in Transport
  • I viewed the video (1:08 mark) about the SportRack 3 bike carrier # SR3152 that you referenced, and the cradles are actually pretty secure and will take a little force to move them around to the desired position. So you won't need to worry about the cradles sliding while you are driving down the road. This bike rack can carry 3 bikes and the weight capacity is 105 pounds. If you will be transporting any woman's, child's or alternative frame bikes, an adapter like # SR0500 will be a...

  • Does the Separate Ground Wire on Hopkins Trailer Wiring Harness HM11140415 Have to Be Connected
  • If the wiring harness you purchased has a separate ground wire then you will need to attach it to a clean and corrosion free bare metal surface to provide a strong enough ground to complete the circuit. Even on plugs that have a ground built in, sometimes a separate ground wire is needed, like on # HM11140415 for example, because the regular ground is not sufficient for the extra load on the system.

  • Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness For 2001 Toyota Corolla
  • We do have a wiring harness that is designed to work with your 2001 Corolla, but it is not a plug and play harness. You will need to hardwire the harness, but it is really not very difficult. The harness is part # 119178KIT. You just need to access the vehicle wiring on the left side of the vehicle in the rear cargo area by the left tail light. The included tester can be used to find the wires you need to splice into with the included connectors. You can have someone sit in the front seat...

  • Can a 1-1/4 - 2 Adapter be Used to Safely Haul a Cargo Carrier with a 2015 Toyota Corolla
  • The concept of a hitch adapter like the Brophy # HTAD is a good idea in theory but the problem with using one of those with a 1-1/4" hitch, like part # C11265 or # 24913 for your 2015 Toyota Corolla, is that it will reduce the weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50%. Since those trailer hitches have a tongue weight rating of 200 lbs this means that the tongue weight will be reduced to 100 lbs. If you were to use all of this for the 24x59 Curt Cargo Carrier # C18151 you would only...

  • What to do if Bolts Don't Fit on Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch for 2012 Toyota Corolla
  • We can help you with this issue, which is actually pretty common on vehicles that have a few miles on them, such as your 2012 Toyota Corolla, and the bolts that came with the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 24913 are the correct size. What happens in older vehicles is that open weld nuts (bolt holes) will amass some corrosion in them which will make it seem as if the bolts don't fit, when really, the bolt holes just need to be cleaned. I have attached a link to a help article that goes over...

  • Yes, the Reese bike rack # 63120 will fit Curt trailer hitch # C11265 on your 2017 Toyota Corolla. This bike rack does not have the ability to keep the bike tires straight while driving. In order to keep the tires straight you can use hook and loop strap # SR54FR. I have linked a video featuring these straps for you. Since you have the Curt hitch you will also need to use stabilization strap # 18050 per Curt's warranty requirements. I have included a link to a video showing how it works...

  • How to Change the Lock Core on a RockyMounts Bike Rack
  • Like you said, there isn't a master key for the RockyMounts lock cores. In order to change out a lock core you will need access to the back of the lock. Then with a small flat blade screwdriver or a knife you can press down on the pin that holds the lock in the housing and then push it out of the front. In the video I made, it is a Rhino-Rack part but the process is the same.

  • Cleaning Weld Nuts to Install Trailer Hitch On 2012 Toyota Corolla
  • The Curt Class I Round tube Receiver Hitch # C11265 uses 4 M12-1.25 x 30mm hex bolts. These bolts come with the trailer hitch. I only recommend using the included hardware to install the # C11265 trailer hitch. Typically any vehicle that has seen a winter will need the weld nuts cleaned before installing a trailer hitch. We recommend using a lubricant and a wire or nylon brush to clean the weld nuts. Several of our installers like to use the Deka Battery Post and Terminal Cleaner - Wire...

  • How To Clean Out Weld Nuts for Trailer Hitch On 2011 Toyota Corolla
  • In order to install a hitch on a vehicle with rusted weld nuts, the first step would be to clean them with a lubricant and wire brush. If the bolt will still not thread into the weld nuts you will need to clean them out further with a thread tap. A M12x1.25 is correct for a 2011 Toyota Corolla.

  • Typical Professional Installation Time for Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX3788 on 2015 Toyota Corolla
  • I am not trying to avoid directly answering your question but the exact amount of time needed to complete a base plate installation on a vehicle can vary quite a bit. The particular equipment on a vehicle, the installer's experience and even the nature of the equipment in the shop can have an effect on the time required. Even with a well-qualified shop and technician, if it is the first time a particular base plate kit has been installed on a particular car, it will take longer than if...
