  • What Is The Advantage To Installing Bearing Buddies?
  • Bearing Buddies give you a similar option to your EZ Lube axles, but they take it one step further to provide a better seal to keep water out. They move the grease hub out further to better protect your hub and bearings and then add the rubber cap that goes over the assembly so you can have the hubs completely submerged without any issues. This partially accomplished by maintaining a slight controls pressure of 3 psi with spring-loaded piston that prevents water from entering hub. Unfortunately,...

  • Does Fascia have to be Trimmed to Install Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch on a 2015 Porsche Cayenne
  • If you look through the instructions for Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75950 for your 2015 Porsche Cayenne, which I have linked for you below, it states that fascia trimming is required on the VW Touareg (which also uses this hitch) but not on the Cayenne or the Audi Q7. Draw-Tite does not have a stabilization strap requirement like Curt so you do not have to use one with this hitch. You can if you want, # 18050, but Draw-Tite did not make it a requirement.

  • Will the Porsche PIWIS System on a 2008 Porsche Cayenne Recognize Tekonsha ZCI Wiring
  • I'm guessing that your 2008 Porsche Cayenne determines there is a trailer attached through the wiring which will be specific from Porsche. While the hitch # 13220 and ZCI Wiring Harness # 119250KIT is a really great combination for your application, the ZCI is designed to basically be invisible on your car. It draws power directly from your battery and then clips onto your OEM wiring so that it can detect when the power needs to be sent. To complete a towing setup you also need a ball...

  • Locking the Swagman # S64400 Bike Rack to 2013 Porsche Cayenne.
  • The Swagman Original # S64400 should fit your Cayenne, as long as it's equipped with a 2 inch hitch. To be absolutely sure, measure the distance between the hitch pin hole and the furthest rearward portion of the back bumper, as outlined in the article I've linked to. If your measurement is less than 14-1/2 inches, the rack will work just fine. The rack includes an anti rattle hitch bolt, but the # 5200 lock and the # e98891 cable lock are sold separately. The Swagman # S64400 is a decent...

  • Is a Relay Still Required to Install a P2 or P3 Brake Controller on a 2005 Porsche Cayenne
  • All of the P2, # 90885 and P3, # 90195, brake controllers that we have now and the ones we will get in the future are all the newer versions so you wouldn't have to worry about that for your Porsche Cayenne. Some additional wiring will be required, see tech bulletin to the right. On the off chance that you do get an erratic display the linked tech bulletin also covers that.

  • Is Wiring Harness on 2006 Porsche Cayenne Compatible with CANbus System
  • The Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236 itself will not trigger a warning of the CANbus system in your 2006 Porsche Cayenne. Since your trailer has LEDs it is possible that some type of error will come across because of the low power draw. To remedy this you can use LED Light Bulb Load-Resistors # DI34ZR but I recommend taking a look to see if this occurs as it is possible you may not need them. I have added a link to a video review as well of...

It says 2005 to 2008 Porsche Cayenne on the technical bulletin, but I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha and he said the technical bulletin is good up to 2011 models. The technical bulletin will show you where the connector is located under the dash. You will need to purchase the connector housing and the wire/terminal assembly from the Porsche dealer to...

  • Re-Wiring Furrion Camera System to Running Lights Circuit
  • The best way to locate the running lights circuit wire on your trailer is to simply use a circuit tester like # PTW2979 on the wiring behind one of the tail light assemblies. When the trailer's hooked up to the vehicle and you have the running lights activated test each of the wires to see which one is carrying power. Then it's just a matter of running the power wire from the Furrion Camera System # FOS43TASF to this wire using some butt connectors like # DW05743-5. This will make it...

  • Installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 on a 2016 Porsche Cayenne
  • What we have found is that sometimes when installing the Prodigy P3 # 90195 on a 2005-Current Porsche Cayenne there are times when the display of the P3 may become erratic. We recommend installing a 12V normally open relay to fix this issue. You don't necessarily have to install the relay, but it will help to prevent the screen on your P3 from doing goofy things. Unfortunately we do not yet have a video of the relay being installed, but I have attached a helpful article and some pictures...

  • How to Install Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller in 2013 Porshe Cayenne Diesel
  • The tech bulletin you mention, which I have linked for reference, pertains to Prodigy installation in the 2005 - 2008 model years of the Porsche Cayenne and the Volkswagen Touareg, and according to my contact at Tekonsha this procedure still applies in the case of your 2013 Cayenne diesel. You will need to locally source a 12V normally open relay and make the wiring connections as described in the article. You will NOT connect the red wire from the P2 to the connector, but instead will...

  • Installing a Tekonsha Brake Controller on a 2014 Porsche Cayenne
  • You can use your Tekonsha brake controller in your 2014 Porsche Cayenne, however, there are not custom wiring adapters available for the Cayenne, so you will want to splice in a universal harness, # 7894. Installing a brake controller on your Cayenne using the factory brake controller wires can be a little tricky so I attached a help article that explains the installation process in detail. The installation covers all Cayennes from 2005 to present.

  • Is Fascia Trimming Required to Install Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch on a 2018 Porsche Cayenne
  • According to the installation instructions for a Porsche Cayenne there is no trimming of the fascia needed to install the Draw-Tite # 75950. This is a confirmed fit for your 2018 Cayenne and I recommend giving yourself a clean looking install with the Draw-Tite # 63080 cover which can stay installed even when you are using the receiver. If you will be using this trailer hitch to tow then you also need wiring and a ball mount kit. You also need a brake controller if you plan on towing anything...

  • Special Requirements to Install a Brake Controller in a 2009 Porsche Cayenne
  • Yes, there are special requirements for installing a brake controller on a 2005 to present Porsche Cayenne. You will need the following parts that are available from a Volkswagen dealer. 1 connector housing (#1J0-972-782) and 2 wire/terminal assemblies (#000-979-228) Cut the wires from both wire assemblies in half so that you have 4 wires, each with a clip on one end and bare wire on the other. Connect the bare end of each of these wires to one of the wires on your brake controller,...

  • Adding a 7-Way to 2013 Porsche Cayenne
  • To add a 7-way to your 2013 Porsche Cayenne that will allow you to pull a larger trailer and use a brake controller I recommend the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L. This is very similar to the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7 with the difference being that you will not have to wire the lead from the brake controller to the brake output pin on the 7-way. This will make installation easier but keep in mind there are only certain brake controllers that the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L will...

  • Installing SH37FR Stealth Hitch on 2019 Porsche Cayenne
  • When installing the # SH37FR on a 2019 Porsche Cayenne, there will be enough slack in the wiring harness mentioned in step # 14 of the instructions so that the hitch can be slid into place. The procedure for removing the hatch/trunk release cable from the clips that hold it is simple, all you'll need to do is gently tug on the cable at each clip and it'll come free. The portion of the fascia where the clips are is trimmed away, so you'll use the six provided mounting bases to reattach the...
