When we have listed tongue weights, the tongue weight rating is the weight that a hitch can handle vertically pressing down on the receiver. This is the vertical weight/accessory rate rating you are asking for. The maximum gross trailer weight, on the other hand, is the horizontal weight of anything that is attached to the hitch (pulled from behind).
Since the tongue weight on the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76143 is 750 pounds, it will be able to accommodate a 375-pound... view full answer...
I have two options for Stealth Hitches that fit your 2022 Tesla Model 3 depending on what you will be using the hitch for.
The Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit item # 391TES317T has an included wiring harness and ball mount so you can tow a small trailer. This hitch also includes a 2" receiver for hauling accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers.

To determine if the Thule Motion XT XL cargo box # TH629806 and the Thule Motion XT Alpine part # TH613 are going to fit and allow you clearance to open your hatch you will need to take one measurement. You will need to measure from the center of your front crossbar back to the rear hatch seam.
The Alpine requires at least 55-1/4 inches for this measurement and the XT XL needs at least 51-1/4 inches. view full answer...
The Swagman Trailhead 4 Bike Rack part # S63380 has a shipping weight of 35 lbs which means the actual weight is around 30 lbs. In order to use this bike rack on your 2017 Tesla Model X you will need a trailer hitch and for that I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76143 if you do not already have one. view full answer...
I checked with our vendors and as of 04/27 the only hitch available for the 2023 Tesla Model X is the Draw-Tite item # 76143. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Tesla with included hardware. It does not have a removable receiver so you wouldn't need to use the magnetic accessory. However, there will still need to be a hole cut in the removable panel for the 2" receiver.
I have linked the installation instructions below.
You will also need a wiring kit but there are none available... view full answer...
I have attached a photo of the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver part # 391TES317 installed on a 2018 Tesla Model 3. As you can see, the hitch pin hole is pretty even with the end of the bumper. Therefore, if you are worried about clearance with folding bike racks or cargo carriers you should not have any issues.
That said, I don't have any measurements at this time as they are not something the manufacturer provides but rather something we take in house when we have an opportunity... view full answer...
Yes we can! The Stealth Hitch Receiver # 391TES317T will stick out past the bumper by 2" on a 2023 Tesla Model 3. This is going to give you plenty of room for your Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack # BA22B and there will be no concern of the rack contacting the bumper. Even with the rack in the folded position, there should be more than 4" between the rack and the bumper which is plenty of room.
The Stealth Hitch # 391TES317T also comes with the towing kit, so you will have all of the components... view full answer...
The distance from the hitch pin hole on the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # 391TES317 is 2-1/2". Once installed on your 2018 Tesla Model 3 it will stick out about 3-3/4" from the bottom edge of your rear bumper. You are also correct, using an extension typically reduces your capacity by 50%.
In order to avoid this problem I recommend using the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2-1/2" Hitch - 6" Drop/Rise - 21K # 325-GH-623. The Gen-Y stacked receiver design does... view full answer...
The EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver part # EH39FR which is a fit for a 2021 Tesla Model Y has a 3,500 lb gross trailer weight and 350 lb tongue weight rating. That said, these ratings are for the hitch only which is tested separately of the vehicle. You'll have to verify the trailer and tongue weight capacity of the vehicle in the owner's manual and abide by the lowest rated component whether it's the hitch or vehicle. In most cases, the hitches are rated for more than the vehicle. view full answer...
The Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit # 391TES317T for your 2023 Tesla Model 3 has a shipping weight of 67 lbs so you're looking at about 65 lbs for the kit itself.
The wiring and ball mount account for about 25 lbs though so for the main frame unit it's only going to weight in at about 40 lbs. view full answer...
From what I'm able to find, the 2018 Tesla Model 3 has a towing capacity of 2000-lbs (likely very different for dual motor versions), but I do recommend confirming that with your owner's manual. With that said, the Stealth Hitch # 391TES317T is a great solution to tow a light weight boat with your 2018 Tesla Model 3.
You'll need to know the total weight of the boat and trailer, as well as the tongue weight of the trailer to determine whether or not it is within the capacity of your Model... view full answer...
Your owners manual for your 2023 Tesla Model X specifically states when carrying any hitch mounted vertical load within 24" of the hitch receiver the maximum load is 120lbs. They do point out this is separate from the maximum tongue weight capacity of 500lbs with their 2" receiver installed and towing a trailer. They also have a bulletin point that says you should not attempt to install a carrier on any model X that is not equipped with their towing package. It seems like they are doing... view full answer...
The 1-1/4" Receiver Attachment for Stealth Hitches # 391RR1 is 2" from the end of the receiver tube to the hitch pin hole center and 6" from the end of the receiver to the vertical shank of the receiver.

This is not just the case for the above hitch and adapter but any you use with a hitch extender. view full answer...
The EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch item # EH36SR weighs 44 lbs. This hitch is confirmed to fit a 2022 Tesla Model S.
I recommend using the Undercover Access Hole Cover for EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch item # 306-XA2002. This will cover the hole the receiver extends through when you don't have the receiver installed. view full answer...

Yes, we do! To add a hitch to your 2023 Tesla Model X, I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch item # 76143. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Tesla with included hardware. I really like this hitch because it mounts behind your rear bumper cover leaving only the 2" receiver visible.

When we installed the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR on a 2021 Tesla Model 3(see install video below) we found the base of the receiver sat 3" below the rear opening for the receiver access panel. You will be able to use this measurement to determine exactly how much ground clearance your 2019 Model 3 will have in the event there were any changes in vehicle height or your springs have sagged more than the one we had in our shop. view full answer...
