I'd recommend a Bearing Buddy bearing protector. If your outer bearing is # L44649 or # L44643, and you have a 1.980 hub bore diameter, you'd use # BB1980A-SS.

Although we do have hitch fits for your vehicle, the EcoHitch Stealth 2 inch receiver you referred to, part # 306-X7375 is not a fit for the 2017 Volkswagen Golf GTI. According to EcoHitch, it's only a fit for 2018-2021 models, and unfortunately, they don't offer a stealth-style hitch for the 2017 GTI at this time.

All of the ball mounts we offer for the Class V 2-1/2 inch receiver have the same 10 inch ball hole to pin hole distance you mentioned.
This being said, I might have a solution for you. You can use a reducer sleeve like part # C45405 along with a ball mount like part # BWBMHD30013. The ball mount has a 16K capacity, and a hitch pin hole to ball hole distance of 11-3/8 inches. Draw-Tite offers a 12K model with a hole to hole distance of 12 inches and a 4 inch drop, part # 4285.

The Draw-Tite Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch, part # 24679, is the hitch that fits the 2002 Volkswagen New Beetle. It uses the Draw-Tite Ball Mount, part # 3594, that has a 4 inch rise. This ball mount comes with a pin and clip.
