The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C24ZV you found is only going to provide your 2024 Mazda CX-90 with a 4-way flat. We do not have a 7-way option like the Mazda part number KMV6V7780. Instead we have the 7-Way Kit # ETBC7 which will connect to the Curt 4-Way and also provides you with additional wiring and circuit breakers for the charge line and a Brake Controller # RED52VR. view full answer...
While we have not had a 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV in our shop with the hands free liftgate to test the exact function I can say most applications will not eliminate the use of the kick sensor. I installed our receiver on my Acura RDX which takes up a lot more of the space under the bumper with its visible cross tube and I can still use the kick sensor on mine to operate the hands free liftgate. You will likely find that you need to perform the kick motion on either side of the receiver tube... view full answer...

Hey Zen, it sounds like your wiring has what's called "wishbone" circuits where a wire goes to each side of the wiring to control both sides. This is pretty common and the part # A25W5B that you referenced can work with this. You'd just need to match up the correct wishboned circuits and run it to the single wire of the 5-way. view full answer...
I would check the ground connection by running a jumper off the Tekonsha P3 # 90195 to a good ground source on your 2024 Mazda CX-90. Since you have verified power is getting to the controller this would be the only reason the unit would not power on when installed unless it was dead. You could also bench test it with a 12 volt battery if you still have the included pigtail which came with the controller. view full answer...
