- I'm assuming you're referring to the way the # 119250KIT was installed in our installation video on a 2018 Audi Q7. Yes, you can install the Curt # C59236 the same way on your 2017 Q7. The only difference between the Curt and ZCI is you're splicing into the wiring instead of using the zero-contact interface sensors.

What kind of brakes do you have on the trailer, electric or hydraulic? It sounds like you have electric brakes and tied them directly into the light so every time you use the turn signal the brakes activate. Electric brake assemblies would need to be ran to a junction box and 7-way and then connect to tow vehicle with a 7-way and brake controller in order to be activated.
