Hey Bryce,
You can use weight distribution on a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander so long as the hitch is rated for use with weight distribution, so the frame isn't an issue. For the '24 Grand Highlander you would be able to use weight distribution with only one hitch that fits, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT95PR.
The other hitch that fits, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C26VV is not rated for use with weight distribution, but you could still add sway control by using... view full answer...
Yes, the Bulldog Collar-Lok Coupler # BD028462 is perfectly compatible with a weight distribution hitch as long as it is using a 2-5/16" ball. view full answer...
No, I am sorry Chris it can not. The TorkLift SuperHitch Everest Weight Distribution System item # TLWD1000 can only be used with the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitches, like item # TL74FR that fits your 2024 Chevy Silverado 3500. It is because of the dual receiver required. The Adjustable Shank item # TLM9010 is the only one that fits it and it won't work with the extensions.
You would need to use a standard weight distribution hitch with one of the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extensions... view full answer...
It sounds like you are asking if a Reese weight distribution system head will fit on a Draw Tite weight distribution shank which the answer to that is yes. view full answer...
Hey Patrick the highest rated weight distribution system we have that fits a 2 inch hitch is the B and W Continuum part # BW78FR which has a tongue weight range of 600-1,600 lbs and a max trailer weight rating of 16,000 lbs. view full answer...
Hello Chris. The Curt # C28KR ball platform for the Rebellion XD will NOT fit on a # C17132 weight distribution shank. The channel isn't wide enough. The channel is about 1-1/2 inches wide, and the WD shank is 2" wide. The C28KR ball platform is only compatible with the Curt Rebellion XD ball mount, which is currently unavailable.
If you want to use the # C17132 WD shank to tow, I suggest simply using the head unit and ball from your weight distribution hitch. If you need a new head unit,... view full answer...
Hey Tony, thanks for writing in, and that's a really smart question. The answer is yes, the fresh water tank should be full when adjusting the 16,000 lb Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ90-00-1600.
What you want to do is have the trailer loaded up just like it would be when travelling to ensure you get the proper adjustment and full benefits of the hitch.
As an aside, if you don't already have a hitch ball for the # EQ90-00-1600, the right one is the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball for... view full answer...
The 2" Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems # EQ91-00-6080 will fit the Fastway e2 # FA94-00-0600. Fastway is actually made by Equal-i-zer so most of their products are compatible. You will also need a 1-7/8" thin walled socket like # ALL643216 and a torque wrench capable of 420 ft-lbs. of torque for installation if you plan to do it yourself. view full answer...
Hey Travis, congrats on the new 2024 Jayco Flight 284BHS!
Your travel trailer looks to have a GVWR of 7,950 lbs so I recommend going with the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37121ET and pairing it with the Shank # EQ90-02-4900 which fits a 2-1/2" hitch receiver. If your 2021 F-450 is equipped with a 3" receiver then you'll also need the Reducer Sleeve Kit # e33YR.
The Equal-i-zer brand is the most well-known out there and it's backed by quality products which... view full answer...
If you have the Ford 3" hitch then you can definitely add it but, yes it would change the weight capacity. The TorkLift Cannon Hitch Extension item # TLE1636 only has a 3,600 lbs towing capacity and a 360 lbs maximum tongue weight. If used with a weight distribution system these capacities are doubled to 7,200 lbs and 720 lbs. view full answer...
Hey Cameron, I recommend checking out the Multi-Fit Motorhome Trailer Hitch # 5350. This is a multi fit trailer hitch that will fit chassis 24" to 46" wide so it'll work perfect with your 43" wide chassis.
This hitch is compatible with a weight distribution system, has a max weight capacity of 5,000 lbs, and has a max tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs. view full answer...
Hello Phil. It does sound like your 1,200 lb bars are too heavily rated for your trailer. I would be looking at something more like 600-800 lb range for your trailer. Something like the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System # RP66073 would be ideal for this setup and it will allow you to re-use the shank from your old hitch. It will work well on trailers with a tongue weight between 400-800 lbs so you would see good results as far as sway control.
This system requires the lift... view full answer...
Hey Scott,
With the majority of dual hitch receivers being specifically for flat towing or not being compatible with weight distribution hitches you'd have to use a Gen-Y stacked receiver like the Gen-Y # 325-GH-624 (2-1/2" trailer hitch) or # 325-GH-1724 (3" trailer hitch). This would have the capability to handle to workload from the trailer as well as create enough space to mount a bike rack or any other hitch mounted accessory that you need to haul. Most other adapters also reduce... view full answer...
Hello Jason, that is a great question. I just spoke to my contact at Gen-Y and they informed me that yes, the Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # GY73XR can be mounted to move the ball closer to the cab. As long as your OEM puck system has all 5 holes, and the distance from the rear two holes to the center hole is the same as the distance from the front two holes to the center hole. Basically, they said as long as it fits into the pucks, you can use it whichever way you want. view full answer...
Hello Marcus. With the new truck being about 3" higher, dropping the head only 2 holes lower on the current shank might not be quite enough to get things back to level. Getting a slightly larger shank will be your best bet. I see that you have already ordered the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # FA94-00-1000 which has a 6" drop. The original shank that came with your Equal-i-zer hitch is only a 3-1/2" drop, so the # FA94-00-1000 will definitely have enough drop for your new truck. view full answer...
Hey John,
The common consensus on capacity is that you should really only use 80-85% to give yourself a margin or error. At 3,300lbs you'd be at roughly 94% capacity so you still technically could but it's likely going to sag the rear suspension and be tough to pull. Even though Rangers are pretty well known for being overloaded and powering through I'd recommend adding in a bit of suspension enhancement or using a weight distribution hitch to help control the trailer and keep it tracking... view full answer...
Assuming you have a 6' bed the Pace Edwards Full-Metal JackRabbit # 311-M-FMTA09A37 will fit your 2024 Tacoma. This has a weight capacity of 300 lbs when evenly distributed. If you have the 5' bed the correct cover would be the # 311-FMTA10A38. view full answer...
We actually only have one jack that fits all of those requirements. That is the Round A-Frame Trailer Jack # TJA-5000S-B. This is a sidewind jack with a lift capacity of 3,000 lbs and support capacity of 5,000 lbs. I wouldn't expect the jack to fail as long as you're using it as intended. If you are on enough of a slope and all of the weight of your trailer shifts to the jack you will likely have a problem. Make sure to use wheel chocks like # 288-02011-2 and leveling blocks like # A10-0920... view full answer...
The BOLT Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # BLT99FR is rated for a gross trailer weight of 16,000 lbs and a tongue weight of 1,600 lbs. It has a sheer strength rating of 42,000lbs. view full answer...
