The 2010 Liberty won't have a connector under the dash for a brake controller. With the factory 7-way, Jeep ran the brake controller output circuit from the 7-way connector and routed it under the vehicle into the passenger compartment. It terminates under the dash near the emergency brake pedal or behind the kick panel to the left of the emergency brake pedal. We have done a hitch installation on a similar model Jeep Liberty (2007) and have measured the clearance needed for a hitch accessory to clear the spare tire. The measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole on the hitch to the farthest part on the back of your vehicle, which would be your spare tire, is 14-1/2 inches.
