Based on the distance between your raised roof rails being 44 inches I don't see how the 50 inch bar version # MPG215 couldn't fit but that said when carrying multiple kayaks you typically want as long of bars as you can get away with so that you have adequate room.

The Thule Stacker # TH830 is a great kayak carrier to carry the 3 kayaks you have but you will need a roof rack installed on both vehicles first. For that I'd recommend the Rhino Rack Vortex Rack # RRVA118B-2 and # RRSX100 for the 2015 Volvo XC70 and then the similar Rhino Rack # RRVA126B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK453 for the 2018 Honda Civic and you'd be set. Since Yakima was unable to confirm a fit at this time for the 2015.5, I made a call our local Volvo dealer to obtain some information. My contact there states that the factory installed rails on the 2015.5 Volvo XC70 are the same as those on the 2015 model. With that being said, the Yakima Roof Rack, consisting of parts # Y00408, # Y03536, and # Y33TR fit your Volvo.

The second hole on the hitch is designed for an anti-rattle pin like # 63201. This pin comes with the lock to secure it and prevent theft and a wrench to tighten the pin to reduce rattle. The j-Pins are no longer available for purchase. The second hole is not used for anyting else.

If you have older Thule square load bars that do not have the bottom channel, there is a way to use a different manufacturer's feet with your 2008 Volvo XC70.
