I do have a couple of options for you to transport bikes using your 2019 Volvo S60 but unfortunately there are no trailer hitches that will fit your vehicle yet (October 2021) so we need to look at alternatives:
For a trunk mount bike rack I recommend the Yakima FullBack which comes in both a 2-Bike # Y02634 and a 3-Bike # Y02633 version.
For a full roof rack setup I recommend the Thule Evo Roof Rack system which consists of the 53" Long Bars # TH711420, Evo Clamp Feet # TH710501, and... view full answer...
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12066 was only a fit for the 2nd generation of the Volvo S60 which ended in 2018. Your 2022 does have the same SPA chassis as the 2019 but the previous generation the receiver fit on is on a P3 chassis. As no one makes a custom fit receiver for your Volvo you can contact a local fabrication shop to see if they are able to create a receiver for you. We do have the 2" Receiver # E17 which can act as a base for having a custom fabricated receiver made. view full answer...
According to Thule, their OutWay Platform rack, part # TH65JV is a fit for both vehicles.
This being said, due to the heavyweight nature of this bike rack (almost 50 lbs), I typically don't recommend it for newer vehicles and vehicles with plastic clad bumpers as the weight can cause damage. It would be better suited to a larger SUV.
You should also take a look at the Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms Item # Y02634. This 2-bike trunk rack weighs only 28 pounds... view full answer...
Yes; hitch mounted cargo carriers can be used on cars, trucks or SUVs. As long as your Volvo S60 has a 2" hitch receiver, then you can use the 24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier # e98874. You can measure the inner dimension of the hitch to determine what size your hitch is, but there are both 1-1/4" and 2" hitches available for the 2020 Volvo S60 so you would want to confirm that you do have a 2" receiver.
If you find that you've got a 1-1/4" hitch receiver, you can instead use the Reese # 63155... view full answer...
Yes, the Bones, part # SA805BL, does fit your 2020 Volvo S60.
Saris has some of my favorite trunk mount racks because there's not as many moving parts on them as a lot of other racks so they're easier to handle and fit onto the car. I've linked a video for you as well. view full answer...
For your Volvo, the Thule K Summit Premium Self-Adjusting Tire Chains part # TH02230K23 require no clearance behind the wheel. The Thule CB12 Tire Chains, part # TH01221100 require only 9 mm of clearance.
These are two of the best tire chains we offer for your car in terms of quality and clearance. Thule offers an industry leading 5 year warranty on these chains. view full answer...
The Thule Passage Trunk Mount 2 Bike Rack, part # TH910XT is indeed a fit for your 2003 Volvo S60. I've confirmed this with Thule.
If you'll be transporting women's bikes or bikes with sharply-angled top tubes, you might also consider a frame adapter bar like part # 64005. The bar spans the distance between the handlebar gooseneck and the seat post, which provides a secondary attachment point for the bike rack. This allows the bike to be carried level, which maximizes ground clearance.... view full answer...
You may need to measure the crossbars on your 2014 Volvo S60 to make sure a fairing will fit.
We offer fairings of different lengths by Rhino-Rack that may be a fit for you. These fairings will work on crossbars with a maximum dimension of 3-1/2 inches wide X 1-1/4 inches tall.
We offer these fairings in 3 different lengths. For a 32 inch fairing you will need to order part # RRRF1. For a 38 inch fairing part # RRRF2 is what you will need, and for a 44 inch fairing you can order part... view full answer...
I checked with my technical contact at Curt Manufacturing, a prominent maker of trailer hitches, regarding your question about the dual exhausts on your 2004 Volvo S60R interfering with hitch installation. He confirmed that the dual exhausts will not cause any issues with installation of their 1-1/4-inch Class II trailer hitch # C12318.
Since the Draw-Tite hitch # 36297 that you referenced is pretty much identical to the Curt it too should bolt up without any issues related to the exhausts.

It appears that none of the aftermarket manufacturers have a hitch option for your 2024 Volvo S60. I recommend visiting a local fabrication shop in your area to determine if they can help you with a Weld-On Receiver # E17.
If they determine there is no way to install a hitch below your chassis you will want to consider using a Yakima FullBack 2 # Y02634 or 3 # Y02633 bike rack which will mount to your trunk. These racks will require a Adapter Bar # Y02531 if you have an alternative or... view full answer...
The Thule Gateway 3 Bike Rack, # TH78VR will fit your Volvo S60 assuming it is not older than 2001. This is a great middle of the road bike rack from an industry leading manufacturer. You will get the quality of a Thule product at a good price. I would also recommend an adapter bar, part # TH982XT, for womens and childrens bikes that lack the top frame tube.
I have included some demonstration videos for you to check out. view full answer...
I have possible solution for you.
First, though, the Inno Ridge Rooftop Cargo Box, part # INBRA220R-BK, does not fit your crossbars, as you said. It fits spreads 30" from center to center, and your 2004 Volvo S60's bars sound like they are over that.
As for drilling, that can technically be done for any cargo box. However, we don't have any documentation for that with this box, so I can't guarantee it will work.
We do have experience with the Trunx Rooftop Cargo Carrier, part #... view full answer...
Yakima does list the SkyBox NX 16 cargo box # Y95AV as a fit for the factory roof rack on a 2012 Volvo S60. This box is 79-1/2 inches long overall so as far as it being too long it depends on your personal preferences.
The box can be safely used on your vehicle but if you want to reduce the amount the box overhangs the roof of the vehicle you can go with a shorter box such as the RocketBox Pro 14, # Y07192. With the shorter box though you will have less cargo space. view full answer...
There is definitely a bike rack that will work for you, but the first thing you'll need is a hitch if you do not already have one. I recommend the Draw-Tite # 36297, which is a Class II hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver that is confirmed to fit your 2005 Volvo S60.
For a 2-bike platform rack that will work with a women's titanium bike and lightweight electric bike I strongly recommend the Kuat NV 2.0 # NV12B. A rack that will be getting a lot of use carrying nice bikes is going to need to... view full answer...
I spoke to Thule about the Thule Passage Trunk Bike Rack part # TH910XT for your 2019 Volvo S60 and the correct fit dial settings per Thule is 7. view full answer...
According to Thule, their # TH45JV OutWay Trunk Mount 2-bike rack is indeed a fit for the 2015 Volvo S60 sedan. If you have a women's bike, step through or a bike with a sharply angled top frame tube like some hybrid bikes, you'll need a frame adapter bar like # UB01 which will allow the bike to be carried so it's level.
I'll link to a video showing how the adapter bar works. view full answer...
Yes, the Fulton Hi-Mount Spare Tire Carrier, # FSTC1000301, will fit on your 2 inch x 2 inch trailer frame. This carrier comes with two sets of mounting bolts and you will want to use the shorter, 3 inch bolts, for your trailer. I went out to our warehouse and confirmed the smaller bolts will work for you.
You will have a small gap, a little over 1 inch, between the bottom of the frame and the lower bolts, so you may want to find a spacer to use between the frame and bolts to prevent any... view full answer...
The Lippert Components Venture 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Motor # LC142178 that you referenced is rated for 5500 RPM. I have attached a photo showing this rating on one of the stickers found on the unit. view full answer...
