  • Preferred Way to Route Power Wire for Trailer Light Harness on 2013 Porsche Cayenne
  • We haven't had the opportunity to install the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT on a 2013 Porsche Cayenne as of yet (August 2023), but I do have an install video on a 2017 Cayenne to help you. Basically, what you want to do is route the wire underneath your vehicle and avoid any moving parts or places where it will get really hot. It's a good rule of thumb to follow the brake lines because these are already routed in this manner. You can run it through the cabin...

  • Re-Wiring Furrion Camera System to Running Lights Circuit
  • The best way to locate the running lights circuit wire on your trailer is to simply use a circuit tester like # PTW2979 on the wiring behind one of the tail light assemblies. When the trailer's hooked up to the vehicle and you have the running lights activated test each of the wires to see which one is carrying power. Then it's just a matter of running the power wire from the Furrion Camera System # FOS43TASF to this wire using some butt connectors like # DW05743-5. This will make it...

  • Installing a Tekonsha Brake Controller on a 2014 Porsche Cayenne
  • You can use your Tekonsha brake controller in your 2014 Porsche Cayenne, however, there are not custom wiring adapters available for the Cayenne, so you will want to splice in a universal harness, # 7894. Installing a brake controller on your Cayenne using the factory brake controller wires can be a little tricky so I attached a help article that explains the installation process in detail. The installation covers all Cayennes from 2005 to present.

  • Can Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller From Honda Pilot be Installed on 2016 Porsche Cayenne
  • Your Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 can absolutely be installed and used in your 2016 Porsche Cayenne. There is not a Plug-In Adapter available for this vehicle, so the controller will need to be hardwired. The Porsche Cayenne is a bit unique when it comes to the installation of a brake controller. For this reason, we actually have a great and detailed article that explains this process along with the additional items you may need. I have attached this article for...

  • Installing SH37FR Stealth Hitch on 2019 Porsche Cayenne
  • When installing the # SH37FR on a 2019 Porsche Cayenne, there will be enough slack in the wiring harness mentioned in step # 14 of the instructions so that the hitch can be slid into place. The procedure for removing the hatch/trunk release cable from the clips that hold it is simple, all you'll need to do is gently tug on the cable at each clip and it'll come free. The portion of the fascia where the clips are is trimmed away, so you'll use the six provided mounting bases to reattach the...

  • Special Requirements to Install a Brake Controller in a 2009 Porsche Cayenne
  • Yes, there are special requirements for installing a brake controller on a 2005 to present Porsche Cayenne. You will need the following parts that are available from a Volkswagen dealer. 1 connector housing (#1J0-972-782) and 2 wire/terminal assemblies (#000-979-228) Cut the wires from both wire assemblies in half so that you have 4 wires, each with a clip on one end and bare wire on the other. Connect the bare end of each of these wires to one of the wires on your brake controller,...

  • Trimming Required to Install Hitch on a 2010 Porsche Cayenne
  • The Curt Hitch part # 13220 that you referenced has been confirmed to fit you 2010 Porsche Cayenne and does require fascia trimming. Basically the lower fascia will have to have an opening cut into it so that the hitch can stick through it like in the picture I attached. The picture is of an Audi Q7, but the trimming is basically the same.

  • Does Fascia have to be Trimmed to Install Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch on a 2015 Porsche Cayenne
  • If you look through the instructions for Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75950 for your 2015 Porsche Cayenne, which I have linked for you below, it states that fascia trimming is required on the VW Touareg (which also uses this hitch) but not on the Cayenne or the Audi Q7. Draw-Tite does not have a stabilization strap requirement like Curt so you do not have to use one with this hitch. You can if you want, # 18050, but Draw-Tite did not make it a requirement.

  • How to Install Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller in 2013 Porshe Cayenne Diesel
  • The tech bulletin you mention, which I have linked for reference, pertains to Prodigy installation in the 2005 - 2008 model years of the Porsche Cayenne and the Volkswagen Touareg, and according to my contact at Tekonsha this procedure still applies in the case of your 2013 Cayenne diesel. You will need to locally source a 12V normally open relay and make the wiring connections as described in the article. You will NOT connect the red wire from the P2 to the connector, but instead will...

  • Adding a 7-Way to 2013 Porsche Cayenne
  • To add a 7-way to your 2013 Porsche Cayenne that will allow you to pull a larger trailer and use a brake controller I recommend the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L. This is very similar to the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7 with the difference being that you will not have to wire the lead from the brake controller to the brake output pin on the 7-way. This will make installation easier but keep in mind there are only certain brake controllers that the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L will...

  • Can Power Wire for 2016 Porsche Cayenne Trailer Wiring Harness be Attached to 12 Volt Outlet
  • We get this question a lot so I know where you're coming from. But trailer wiring harness manufacturers design the powered converters such as # 119250KIT so that they draw 12-volt power directly from the vehicle battery for a very good reason. Doing so keeps the vehicle wiring fully isolated from the wiring of the trailer. Short circuits in trailer wiring are very common, keeping the trailer wiring isolated from the vehicle will help prevent the wiring in your 2016 Porsche Cayenne from...

  • Is The Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # SH37FR Confirmed To Fit 2019 Porsche Cayenne Hybrid?
  • The Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # SH37FR you were looking at is indeed confirmed to fit your 2019 Porsche Cayenne Hybrid. You will need to trim a small portion of the underside fascia to give the receiver a location to be exposed. This is not something you will see once it is installed as it is under the vehicle. This is the only modification required, and is pretty minor. Keep in mind this rack is only compatible with a bike rack or cargo carrier, and cannot be used with a...

  • Will the Porsche PIWIS System on a 2008 Porsche Cayenne Recognize Tekonsha ZCI Wiring
  • I'm guessing that your 2008 Porsche Cayenne determines there is a trailer attached through the wiring which will be specific from Porsche. While the hitch # 13220 and ZCI Wiring Harness # 119250KIT is a really great combination for your application, the ZCI is designed to basically be invisible on your car. It draws power directly from your battery and then clips onto your OEM wiring so that it can detect when the power needs to be sent. To complete a towing setup you also need a ball...

  • Is Wiring Harness on 2006 Porsche Cayenne Compatible with CANbus System
  • The Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236 itself will not trigger a warning of the CANbus system in your 2006 Porsche Cayenne. Since your trailer has LEDs it is possible that some type of error will come across because of the low power draw. To remedy this you can use LED Light Bulb Load-Resistors # DI34ZR but I recommend taking a look to see if this occurs as it is possible you may not need them. I have added a link to a video review as well of...
