To find the correct brake switch wire use a circuit tester like # PTW2979 if needed to test each of the wires you see. You will need the one that shows power only when you apply the brake pedal. I read through the installation instructions for the Air Lift 1000 air Helper Springs, # AL60774, and in section C of the instructions there is a step that stats that you may have to drill a 3/4 hole into the lower spring seat on certain vehicles.

Having the 4-way run out of the back hatch is actually the preferred method although it seems like it wouldn't be. Having the 4-way stored inside the cab of the vehicle keeps it protected from rain and moisture to prevent corrosion and keeps it protected from damage to the wiring or connector by rocks or debris that might be on the highway.

For a wiring harness that requires a direct connection to the battery, like # 118653, for the 2012 Nissan Murano, the harness will not work unless the battery connection is made. The trailer lights get their power from the battery so if not connected the trailer lights will not work.
The harness has not been tested for any other connection and is not rated to connect anywhere but the battery. Connecting it anywhere else, since not tested, would end up voiding the harness warranty.

You are close on your install but have a few more steps to go. The blue wire in your Silverado is your "brake wire" for any trailer. It needs to be connected to the brake wire of your 7-Way connector. In order to make this connection, you will need to use a "double bonded" wire which we have in installation kit # 5506.
