Vehicles with active air shutter will typically have to either have to have them removed or trimmed in order to fit a baseplate and wouldn't be something that would based on the trim level. This happens quite a bit with the Chevy Equinox and isn't a major deal as long as the installer isn't being careless and cutting off more than he needs to. Yes, I highly recommend using a battery charge line kit while flat towing your 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
