While it's true that the Mopar 68321424AB wiring harness has been required in the past, that changed a few model years ago so you will not need it to flat tow your 2021 Jeep Cherokee. For a complete flat towing setup you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. To start, you can use the Sterling tow bar # RM-576 with the EZ 5 base plates, # RM-521446-5, on your 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. But the cable anchors must be attached to the frame of the vehicle or welded to the receiver portion of the bracket.
