The B&W Companion RVK3000 was an early model that has a max weight rating of 18,000 lbs, adjustable height ranging from 14-3/4" - 16-3/4", and used U-Bolts for the installation.
The B&W Companion # BWRVK3500 was upgraded so that the weight rating is now 20,000 lbs, has a higher adjustable height range of 16-1/4" - 18-1/4" (which is more common), and has a single point for mounting which makes it easier to use.
It wasn't that the older systems were bad, B&W just saw where they could make... view full answer...
I can definitely help and point you in the right direction. Both brands make a great quality air bag kit. Personally I prefer the Firestone Ride-Rite # F2709. The air bags themselves are known to be more durable than others. They can hold more PSI (150) than other brands as well.
You will also want to go with a heavy duty onboard compressor. I recommend the Firestone Air Command # F2219. A dual path compressor will allow each bag to be filled independently, which will be ideal for a truck... view full answer...
The only difference between the Curt Double Lock part # C607-604 and EZr Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch part # C611-624 for a 2015 GMC Sierra 3500 is the center locator tool that comes with the EZr which helps to drill out the center hitch ball hole but aside from that they are pretty much the same. I recommend the EZr because of the added tool. view full answer...
The TruXedo Pro X15 Soft Tonneau Cover # TX1472801 is a slightly upgraded version of the TruXedo Lo Pro Soft Roll-up Tonneau Cover # TX572801. Both of these covers fit your 2021 GMC Sierra 3500 with an 8 foot bed, and the differences are in the profile of the cover as well as the make of the cover.
The Pro X15 has a lower profile than the Lo Pro, sitting only 1/2 inch above the bed rails, while the Lo Pro is about an inch above the rails, or just under. The difference is that the lower-profile... view full answer...
It is very interesting that you are experiencing chucking and jarring while using the Curt Q25 # C16069 with your 2016 GMC Sierra 3500. This is actually a really nice 5th wheel hitch and has received great reviews from our customers. The only things that I can really think of is that the built-in cushioning may be wearing down or that the jaws aren't completely closing so I would start by checking those out. If you have a cushioned pin box it could be counteracting the cushioning on the... view full answer...
The biggest difference between Firestone Ride-Rite and Air Lift LoadLifter air bag kits is that Firestone uses double convoluted bags that have 4 layers of reinforced rubber and are installed on the plates using a rolled crimp seal that keeps them from getting pinched. The LoadLifter kits are good as well but they don't have as heavy-duty rubber as the Ride-Rite option which is why I recommend going with Ride-Rite (Firestone) over LoadLifter (Air Lift).
For your 2015 GMC Sierra 3500 the... view full answer...
The only real difference between the Curt Q24 # C16545-16025 and Q25 # C16069 Fifth Wheel Hitches are the weight capacity, as you mentioned in your question. The Curt Q24 has a 6,000 pound tongue weight capacity and 24,000 pound gross towing weight, while the Q25 has a tongue weight capacity of 6,250 pounds and gross towing weight of 25,000 pounds. Both 5th-wheel hitches are designed to work with the factory rail kit on your 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 and have the nice 2-jaw locking system that... view full answer...
The BAKFlip MX4 Hard Tonneau Cover - Folding - Aluminum - Matte Finish # BAK48122 and the BAKFlip F1 Hard Tonneau Cover - Folding - Aluminum and Fiberglass # BAK72122 are both excellent choices. The difference is the MX4 has 1/2 inch thick rustproof aluminum panels rated to hold up to 400 lbs evenly distributed. The F1 has 5/8 inch thick fiberglass-reinforced polymer panels with aluminum undersides and insulated cores for strength. The fiberglass will not heat up like the aluminum top... view full answer...
The only difference between the standard Firestone Ride-Rite air bags and the Red Labels for your 2024 GMC Sierra 3500, is the weight rating. Standard is 5,000 lbs while the Red Label is 7,500 lbs:
- Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2613
- Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs # F2709
I recommend going with the Red Label just because it means you don't have to fill the bags up as much to get the support you're needing, which in turn means the bags will... view full answer...
Though the Air Lift LoadLifter 7500 XL Air Helper Springs # AL57541 and the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs # F2709 that are designed to fit your 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 are both American made and rated up to 7,500 pounds of load leveling capacity, there is one difference that pushes me to the Firestone option. That being the durability of the actual bags.
The Air Lift air bags have 2 layers while the Firestone bags have 4 layers. This means the Firestone bags... view full answer...
I recommend using the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3715 for your 2024 GMC Sierra 3500 with the in bed factory prep/puck system. This hitch is made in the USA and B&W has great attention to detail. While the PowerRide # C36WR looks like a great hitch I have never been a fan of the integrated Wear Plates # C52WR. They are specific to the one hitch and when they become damaged they may be difficult to find on a trip. And as I have seen with other manufacturers if they discontinue... view full answer...
Difference in pricing between products can have a variety of factors like what our cost is for them, how popular they are, and competitor's pricing so there really isn't just one reason why pricing is different.
With that being said, the Curt Kit # C60692 is pretty popular but I think they have pushed their marketing into the OEM sector so people have just heard their name more.
I personally like the style of the B&W Kit # BWGNXA2061 better because the release handle doesn't sit on top... view full answer...
The Ram Kit # BWGNXA2062 fits in the larger 4 outer puck holes that the Ram factory in bed hitch uses. You can see the chain connections are larger with this kit than the Kit # BWGNXA2061 for Ford, GM and Nissan factory in bed hitch connections. view full answer...
For air bags on your 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 I would recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle # F2613 over the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 # AL57341. Since they have the same capacity the difference to focus on is in the construction. The construction of the Firestone air bags is superior to the Air Lift.
The Air Lift bags are constructed of 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber while the Firestone has 4 layers of reinforced rubber for added durability.... view full answer...
The 7,500 lb air bag kit I highly recommend for your 2019 GMC Sierra 3500 two-wheel drive are the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs # F2709 because of the superior construction of the bags compared to the Air Lift LoadLifter 7500 XL Air Helper Springs # AL57538.
The reason the Firestone air bags are higher in quality than the Air Lift is because the Firestone bags are constructed with four layers of rubber which is reinforced, while the Air Lift bags are a double-ply... view full answer...
The Curt # C16024 fifth wheel legs you mentioned fit the A series hitches from 20k and up; the A20 # C16540, A25 # C16580, and A30 # C16590. They're technically designed for the A30 because of the legs's 30,000 pound rating but they still fit the other two. With that in mind they will not, however, increase the weight capacity of the other 2 hitches.
The # CU53FR legs fit all of the same hitches plus the Q Series and E Series hitches as well. These legs even fit the A30 however they are... view full answer...

While both are high-quality hitches that fit your 2020 GMC Sierra 3500 long bed, the B&W Companion is considered the best 5th wheel hitch in the industry.
The Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C24FR has a very good dual-jaw system and a nice, easy-to-use color-coded indicator system for coupling and uncoupling, which is why people really like it. That said, the Companion is in a different category because of its immense jaws, cushioned bushings, and pivoting head, which combine to give... view full answer...
The highest capacity B&W Companion 5th wheel hitch available for your 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 long bed would be part # BWRVK3715 which has a 25K capacity.
For a higher capacity alternative, the Curt # C36WR PowerRide has a 30K capacity. The hitch has a actuating handle that's specially designed to be comfortable to use. The hitch also has an integrated teflon lube plate, so you wouldn't need to use any grease on the skid. Both features aren't found on the Companion.
Both hitches have dampened... view full answer...
I prefer the Air Lift LoadLifter 7500 XL Air Helper Springs # AL57541 over the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs # F2709 for your 2024 GMC Sierra 3500. The Air Lift has in internal jounce spring which I find greatly helps to reduce the bouncing effect you get when towing heavy loads on bumpy roads.
