In order to determine where you will want to mix up a solution of soapy water and spray the airbag and inflation valve down while under pressure. I'd make sure that the 7-way connector on the vehicle and the trailer are both in good condition, not damaged or corroded. Make sure the wiring from the trailer connector to the magnets is in good condition, with no loose connections, no cracked wire insulation. Make sure that the ground connections at each magnet are made to clean, bare metal.

The thump you are experiencing is known as "chucking" and it's caused basically by the excess movement that a hitch head allows between it and the king pin. Curt fifth wheel hitches are somewhat known for this and we've seen and heard of them getting worse with time. I'm assuming you're speaking of a bearing kit like # BK3-310 that includes a LM67048 outer bearing, a 25580 inner bearing and a GS-2125DL double lip seal. The seal fits a 3.376 hub bore and a spindle surface just a bit larger than 2.125 inches.
The grease seal should fit very tightly in the hub bore and should not be loose. If it fits loosely on the spindle or in the hub bore, it will allow grease to escape the hub and allow moisture and dirt in.

Here are some things you can try that normally help if RV slide outs won't close.
Reset the power to the RV by unplugging it from shore power. Wait a few minutes and plug it back in.
Check all fuses and breakers related to the slide outs.
Try resetting all breakers even if they look good.
Make sure your battery is in good shape.
Reset the slide controller by unplugging and plugging it back in. My guess is this is the problem.

For your 153-1/2" slide out you will want the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning item # LCV000168109 for black or item # LCV000163300 for white. These toppers fit slide-outs that are 152" - 157" wide and up to 48" long. You will need at least 7" of clearance on both sides of your slide-out box. The awning fabric is 157" wide so you will need 7" on either side of that.
