When a trailer hitch is designed for a certain vehicle they are testing where it can be attached on the vehicle to offer the best towing and tongue weight capacity. In the case of your 2010 Ford Transit Connect, where the hitch attaches to the vehicle would allow it to have the higher Class III rating. It does not mean that you are able to tow 3,500 lbs, that is decided by the vehicles manufacturer. Since your owners manual says no towing capacity, they are referring to other parts on the... view full answer...
Once the Curt trailer hitch # C13167 is installed on a 2016 Ford Transit Connect it will measure about 3 inches from the bottom of the rear bumper to the bottom of the hitch. If you measure from level ground up to the bottom of the bumper and subtract 3 inches that is the approximate location the bottom of the hitch will be. As long as the width of the spare tire is less than the remaining space you will be able to get it out from under the vehicle.
It looks like the width on the regular... view full answer...
Yes, the Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT # TH92BJ will fit your 2016 Ford Transit Connect. The rack fits both 1-1/4 inch (Class I and II) receivers as well as 2 inch hitch receivers (when using the included adapter). I have linked a video review of this bike rack for you. view full answer...
Ford probably thinks that the trailer wiring harness # C56218 draws all of the power it needs through the tail light wiring. But it doesn't. This harness powers the trailer lights from the vehicle battery and only uses the tail light connection on the vehicle for the proper signals to send back to the trailer lights. LED tail lights on the vehicle would not pose a problem. view full answer...
The Yakima BackSwing, part # Y02483, is essentially an adapter that gives a hitch mounted accessory the swinging feature. If you are to use a 1-1/4 to 2 inch expander, like part # 80303 which is also and adapter, you would be using two adapters which is never recommended. view full answer...
My contacts at Draw-Tite verified that their 2-Inch Class III hitch # 75852 is confirmed to fit on the long wheelbase version of your 2015 Ford Transit Connect. I linked an install video for the similar Curt hitch # C13167 - also a confirmed fit.
For a wiring harness for towing you can use the Tow Ready 4-pole wiring kit # 118613.
The recommended ball mount # C45030 can be used with a ball that has a 1-inch shank, such as 2-inch ball # 63845. view full answer...
To select a properly-rated weight distribution/sway control system for a trailer you need to know the fully-loaded trailer tongue weight (TW). This allows choosing a system with the correct amount of tension. Our handy scale # e99044 make measuring TW easy. Ideally your trailer's loaded TW, including the weight of any cargo in the vehicle that sits behind the rear axle, will fall in the middle of the system's operating range.
I linked our main page for WD systems where you can select your... view full answer...
I spoke with Rhino-Rack and their tech stated they only recommend installing the Rhino-Rack Sunseeker Awning # RR32132 into a crossbar and have not tested it in the c-channel of the Rhino-Rack RTC-Style Roof Rack Tracks - Channel Mount - 63" Long - Qty 2 # RTC16 as they are slightly larger than their crossbar c-channels.
For this I recommend the Track Mount RLTP Legs # RLTP-2 and the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 71" Long - Qty 2 # RRVA180B-2. The # RLTP-2 legs... view full answer...

There are some hitches for other vehicles that effectively take the place of the bumper beam but there are none with that design for the 2013 Ford Transit Connect. Hitch # 75678 cannot take the place of the bumper beam. Ideally you would replace the bumper beam with either a new factory one or a used or aftermarket one that is in good shape. view full answer...
Due to the limited space your only option would be to install some crossbars and use a thinner cargo box like the Yakima DeepSpace 10 Rooftop Cargo Box - 10 cuft - Black # Y65RR to the right of the vent. To know what crossbar feet would fit the track you have on there I would need to know the brand/model or the dimensions of the C-Channel.
The # Y65RR mounting points are 13" apart from the front to the back of the box so you wouldn't need that large of a space to install this since you... view full answer...

Curt's 2-inch Class III hitch model # C13167 offers no-drill installation on your 2017 Ford Transit Connect as shown in the linked video.
We here at etrailer have not yet had a local customer with your same vehicle/tires have this hitch installed, not has my technical contact at Curt seen this specific combination. Based on my and Curt's review of various other installation photos we both agreed that although we cannot give you a conclusive answer it does appear that there is just enough... view full answer...
The Surco Spare Tire 3-Bike Carrier # BT300 is listed as fitting pretty much every spare tire so it should be good to fit your 215/55R16 on your 2015 Ford Transit Connect - Surco doesn't have any specs when it comes to fitment.
If you're wanting something that is a little more of a definite fit then I recommend the Thule Spare Me 2 Bike Rack # TH963PRO which fits tires up to 12-1/2" wide with up to 4" left or right offset. Your tire is only 8-1/2" wide so we know it is compatible. view full answer...
Yes, if you'd like to replace your 155/80R12 tires - which seem to be a passenger tire size - you can do so with the Kenda Karrier ST145/R12 Radial Trailer Tire with 12" Black Mod Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - LR D # AM35354.
It shouldn't be just a spare though, as you'd need to replace both tires and wheels at the same time as you can't use two different sized trailer tires. They will work good as replacements when needed though as the sizes are almost exactly the same, with the # AM35354 being... view full answer...
The sliding side doors on your 2016 Ford Transit Connect wagon are not ideal for use with a strap-mounted rooftop cargo bag like the Rightline Gear Sport 3 XL Rooftop Cargo Bag # RL100S30. The straps run through the interior of the vehicle. Standard vehicle doors work fine but sliding doors will not be compatible with the straps.
If you install a rear-mounted hitch like # C13167 you could use a hitch-mounted cargo carrier that will be able to handle far more weight than the vehicle's... view full answer...

The slight curve of your van roof should not be an issue given that the Ventline Vanair 12-Volt Trailer Roof Vent # VP-543SP is a smaller unit. As such the curvature of the roof in the area where you mount the fan will not be a factor.
This fan has numerous diameters depending on where you are measuring. Luckily another Expert took a bunch of these measurements and I have included a picture showing them for you. view full answer...
