Our brake controllers are not fit guided for the trailers and instead are for the vehicle side. So if you have your East to West Della Terra info in our fitguide it wouldn't show a fit for it since brake controllers normally install on the vehicle side.
You didn't mention what happens if the brake pedal is pressed in your tow vehicle. Do the brakes work at all when this happens? NC would indicate no connection which in the case of a brake controller means that it can't detect the load... view full answer...

Hey Greg, so the Curt ball mount part # C45070 does have 6 inches of drop but the ball mount platform like you noticed does angle down instead of go vertical like what you have now. One style isn't necessarily better than the other but the angled style does add some length to the ball mount setup which could be helpful for if you were having turn clearance issues.
