It looks like on the 2013 Dodge Journey the reverse lights are on the rear hatch and possibly also on the body structure with some of the other lights. If there are reverse lights on the body structure, then you will need to access the taillight wiring and find the wire that goes to the reverse light bulb and tap into it there.

Finding the stop light wire to connect to a brake controller can be tricky depending on the vehicle. Especially if there is very little space in which to work. You will start by locating the brake light switch under the dash and above the brake pedal. There should be several wires running to it. I have included a picture that shows what it might look like.

The brake assemblies are specific to the correct side of the trailer, a right hand brake assembly could not be used on the left side of the trailer. The assembly should be mounted so the magnet is at the bottom and the larger of the two brake pads is pointing to the rear of the trailer. On a 2011 Dodge Journey the hitch wiring does not run to the rear of the vehicle, and the vehicles wiring is not designed to handle the draw of the trailer lights when using a T-One wiring harness that will just plug into the vehicles taillights. I haven't used the SUV Tent # RL110907 I personally own a different Rightline Gear tent that is the same material and haven't had any issues with the zippers breaking. They do have a tendency to get stuck on the material that is to keep the rain out but if you're careful it can be avoided.

Since hitch adapters like what you have generally aren't rated for RV use and best case scenario cut the tongue weight capacity of the hitch they are installed in by 50 percent I would not recommend the use of a Roadmaster Hitch Mounted Spare Carrier part # RM-195225 with on.

Whether you are talking about the 12 volt power wire from a 4-Way powered converter or the 12 volt circuit from a 4- to 7-Way adapter, such as # 37185, they both connect to the vehicle positive battery terminal.
It sounds like you are talking about the 7-Way so for it you will need a 40 amp circuit breaker, # PK54540, and enough wire, # 12-1-1, to reach from the front of the vehicle to the rear.
