The front rail of the Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Custom Installation Kit with Brackets and Rails # 50043-6008 has two bolts that run through the frame brackets and then 2 bolts that just go through the truck bed. It is the forward most holes of the front rail that does not go through the frame brackets.
I attached a copy of the installation instructions for this install kit for you to check out also. view full answer...
If your 2004 Dodge Dakota is equipped with a factory 7-Way, then you should not need to run any wires. You would simply use the # 3020-P wiring adapter to plug in the P-3 brake controller # 90195.
Dakota models without the factory 7-Way require hard wiring in order to install a brake controller, meaning you would need to run the wiring as you did for your Jeep, as well as installing 4-Way and 7-Way plugs, if you have not already done so.
The # 90195 brake controller includes a wire pigtail... view full answer...
To install a controller in your Dakota, you will need the controller, the # ETBC7 install kit, and a functioning 4-pole trailer connector.
If your Dakota does not already have a 4-pole connector, one can be installed by using part # 118323.
If you do not already have a brake controller, I would recommend a proportional-type controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885.
The 4-pole to 7-way adapter included in the kit would plug into the 4-pole trailer connector once it is installed.... view full answer...
For a 2006 Dodge Dakota that does not have the factory tow package you will need to hardwire in a trailer brake controller. The first thing you will need is a 4-Way trailer wiring harness, # 118323. If the truck already has a 4-Way you will not need to add this harness.
Next, you will need a 4 and 7-Way installation kit # ETBC7. This will provide the 7-Way and all of the wiring and accessories to wire in the brake controller. I have included some links that explain the ETBC7 installation... view full answer...
Since this Universal LED Tailgate Fire Strip, part TLB-001, mounts easily with adhesive, you should have no problem installing it between the tailgate and bumper, back out of the way in the gap. It uses a 4-pole connector for power, so if you have a 7-way plug on your Dakota, we have a replacement plug that has both -- the 7-way and 4-way Trailer Connector, part #30955. I have included a link to the video installation for this product below. view full answer...
I spoke with my contact at Curt and when it comes to installing the Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 13229, on your 2007 Dodge Dakota, the torque information given in the instruction is correct and has been tested. This is a 3/4 inch, grade 8 bolt that has been used for years and they have not had any issues of the bolt braking when torqued according to the instructions. view full answer...
Yes, I can help you out to an extent with the installation. Since I do not know what stereo you currently have in your boat, I cannot say whether the Jensen Heavy-Duty Mechless Marine Stereo # JHD910BT will wire up the same way.
I have included a picture of the wiring diagram and included the installation instructions. You can use these to help determine if the Jensen # JHD910BT stereo will work out well in your really nice boat.
If you are worried about the installation, I recommend... view full answer...
The Swagman Around the Spare Mighty Rack, # S80501, is designed to fit around a spare tire that is already mounted to the back of an RV or trailer and is not designed to hold the tire. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view.
This rack is designed to fit on a continuous welded steel bumper that is 4 inches to 4-1/2 inches square. Make sure to check the owners manual to be sure the bumper can be used for this application. We do have several other bike racks... view full answer...
The port under your hood that the Hopkins Plug-in Simple Brake Wiring Adapter # HM47755 you referenced plugs into will be under the dash just to the right of the emergency brake.
Check out the picture I attached that shows exactly where it is.
You will want to check the 7-way for the word Mopar written on it somewhere to determine if it is OEM or an aftermarket installed 7-way. If the 7-way is aftermarket there will not be a port and you will need to hardwire your brake controller in... view full answer...
You can mount cooler # D13402 on the rail in front of the radiator on your 2005 Dodge Dakota. Ideally, for the most airflow efficiency for the fan pulling air through you would want it mounted against the radiator if there is space. But mounting it further out should not sacrifice too much of the supplemental cooling when at ideal or lower speeds.
You will not need additional fittings to install the cooler on your truck.
For a temperature gauge we have # D13009. The temperature sender... view full answer...
If the yellow aux function wire from the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7 isn't long enough to connect to the reverse light circuit on your 2004 Dodge Dakota then you'll need a length of the 16 Gauge Wire # 16-1-1 (sold by the foot) and butt connectors like the kit # DW05744-5 which come with a heat shrink wrap that protects the connection better than a standard butt connector.
If your boat trailer has an actuator with an electric lockout then yes, the reverse light function is what... view full answer...
The factory harness that you will plug into for a brake controller will be located underneath the dash and left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. The connector on the vehicle can be hard to see sometimes, especially if it is tucked up, hidden behind another harness or component. You might have to fish for it above the emergency brake pedal. It is also possible that it has fallen behind the driver side kick panel to the left of the emergency... view full answer...
The factory transmission cooler in most vehicles is integrated into the radiator. What this does is actually warm the cooler to the temperature of the radiator. A supplemental cooler does not touch the radiator so it will actually stay cooler than the factory cooler. So if you were to run the fluid through the supplemental cooler first you would cool the fluid and then once it went through the factory cooler it would warm back up to a certain extent.
So the best way to route the cooler... view full answer...
Thank you for purchasing the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System, part # HM50002.
This wired camera system's monitor does not have a scrolling feature to let you shift the grid lines but you can make vertical adjustments to the camera itself (and also to the two backup sensors on either side of it) to get the best degree of visual alignment and object detection as you back up. The linked image from the owner's manual shows the adjustment guidelines for the sensors.

Installation of the Pop and Lock powered lock # PAL8100 is not very difficult at all, especially if you have experience with automotive projects, wiring, or both. Below are the Pop and Lock text instructions:
1. Remove the black plastic bezel. Squeeze the top edge of the bezel down until it releases. Tilt the bezel away at the top and pull it up to release the bottom.
2. Lower the tailgate – FROM THIS POINT UNTIL COMPLETION DO NOT CLOSE THE TAILGATE.

To install the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160 on a 1999 Dodge Dakota without factory trailer connector, the red lead will connect to the cold side of the brake pedal switch that goes hot only when the brake pedal is pressed. The brake connector is above the brake pedal in the dash.
If the wire shows power with the headlights or turn signals on, then it is not the right wire. I would recommend using a circuit tester # PTW2992.

You can install the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, # C13145, on your 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab without having to relocate the spare tire as long as it is a factory size spare tire and not aftermarket. This hitch does not require any drilling for installation either. The installation instructions that I have attached mention drilling some bolt holes on the underside of the frame, but that is only for older generation models, not for your truck. You should have all bolt holes pre-drilled... view full answer...
Torque specs for wheel lug nuts vary depending on several factors like stud size, wheel size and wheel material. The linked image provides a listing of commonly recommended torque values.
The studs on your hubs # A35RS545E are 1/2-inch diameter and since your wheels # AM31215 are aluminum, you'll use a torque range of 75-85-ft-lbs.
We offer torque wrenches like # ALL944001 if you need one. view full answer...

There is a clip around the base of the window crank on your 2002 Dodge Dakota that needs to get removed. There are special tools that can be used to remove it, or you can use a thin screwdriver.
One way that works pretty easy is to take a rag and place it between the handle and the door trim. Rotate the rag around the handle and it should grab the clip and remove it. view full answer...
