However, if you wanted to apply a durable Plasti-Dip type spray-on coating to the handle before installing it on your coach, it would stand up a bit better than a paint would, while giving you the look you're seeking.

Small individual parts for an older Kwikee step motor like the one on your 1996 Coachmen are no longer available. For a Series 28 electric single step on a 1996 Coachman you'll need to upgrade the unit to current parts, according to my contact at Lippert.
