When you use a hitch extension in a 2 inch or 1-1/4 inch receiver it will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent. But if you have a 2-1/2 inch receiver the tongue weight capacity is not reduced but usually the capacity of he extension is lower than the hitch so you would go by the lower rating.
If you have a 2-1/2 inch receiver opening you can use the Titan extender # RP45292 at the 24 inch length. That will give you a capacity of 6,000 pounds; 8,000 when using weight... view full answer...
I spoke with my contact at Curt about installation of gooseneck trailer hitch # C60712 on your 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 new body style short bed. The gap that you are seeing is supposed to be there. It is a result of some of the other hardware used toward the rear of the bracket and your installation is correct! view full answer...
To install a 7-way in your truck bed, I'd recommend the Hopkins # 41157. This wiring harness would tap inline with the connection between the trailer wiring on the truck and the 7-way trailer connector.
For a male connector on the camper with a length of cable, I'd recommend a molded 7-way connector/cable from Hopkins, which is available in various lengths:
3 foot- # H20042
4 foot- # H20043
6 foot- # H20044
8 foot- # H20046

Based on my research, the PullRite SuperGlide part number 2700 fits industry standard (I.S.) above-bed base rails. The I.S. base rails I recommend for your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD with 6-1/2 foot bed are the Reese Quick Install Custom Base Rails and Outboard Installation Kit # RP56007-53. This outboard kit moves the isntallation hardware for the base rails to the outside of the vehicle frame. I contacted our representative at Firestone and he informed me that you should be able to un-bolt the bump stops. You should be able to access the bolts through the opening at the rear of the frame. The instructions for Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs, part # F2430 also state that you should un-bolt the bump stops.
In addition to part # F2430, I would also recommend Firestone Level Command II - Single-Gauge w/ Standard-Duty Compressor - Single Function, part # F2158, to control... view full answer...
On the Redline Trailer Wheel Stud, part # 25-51, both of the ends are 1/2-inch thread size. The end that screws into the hub is a coarse thread (UNC) with a thread pitch of 1/2-inch x 13 threads per inch.
The other end that is used for the lug nut is a fine thread (UNF) that has a thread pitch of 1/2 inch x 20 threads per inch. view full answer...
The 2007 Chevy Silverado New Body does not use a harness to plug in a brake controller. That stopped in 2006 and 2007 Classic models. Instead your truck has a tow package wire bundle under the dash, to the left of the steering column, held together with white tape.
You can keep the harness that you have and just cut off the end that would normally plug into the truck. Brake controller white goes to truck white for ground. Controller black goes to truck red for 12 volt power. Controller... view full answer...
The # CHK510 key you mentioned is common to all # L1980, # L1930, # L1883, # L1833, and # L4080 latches. In order to get you the correct key, look on the face of the lock and see if there's a reference number engraved or stamped next to the key slot. That number might help me find you a replacement key, if you can reply and let me know what the number is.
Otherwise, if you can provide the dimensions of the rough opening the latches sit in, I can recommend replacement locks for you. Replacement... view full answer...
The Superchips Flashpaq F5 Performance Tuner # SU4845 will fit your 2007 Chevy Silverado New Body style with a 5.3L V8 Engine and will help improve your towing performance with its pre-set towing tune. Per the fitguide on our website, the Curt # 31322 would be a fit for the 2007 Silverado new body 1500 model only. For a 2500, you'll want to use # 31109. I've confirmed with with Curt.
Draw-Tite also offers the # 65050 which will sit up higher, just under the bumper, instead of just under the fascia, so you'll have better ground clearance at the front if you went this route. I've confirmed this fit with the folks at Draw-Tite.

Starting with the brakes if the pads on the shoes are cracked or if the wear indicators are showing then they should be replaced. If there are no wear indicators and you notice weak braking with the brakes adjusted out then they would need to be replaced.
For magnets if you can see the copper windings coming through the magnets will need to be replaced.
For the drums look for any discoloration, scoring, cuts, scrapes, gashes, and things like that. If present then the drums should be replaced.... view full answer...
The Curt hitch part # 13339 that you referenced is not a confirmed fit for your 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 New Body so for a similar hitch that does fit you'd want the part # 13301.

I am sure there is a way to install an OEM integrated brake controller on your 2007 Chevy Silverado. But I would strongly recommend you go with an aftermarket brake controller because they end up costing less and perform much better.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
To install this controller you will just need to wire it to the bundle... view full answer...

Is the pin on your 7-way dirty or corroded? That's usually what causes intermittent brake output signal on a vehicle 7-way.
You can also try probing the brake output circuit with a # PTW2993 to see if the voltage is on the wire but just not making it back to the pins of the connector on the 7-way. view full answer...

We do not offer mounting brackets for flat bed trucks because there can be so many different dimensions. You will need to fabricate brackets or have them made for the fifth wheel installation.
My contact at Demco said they use 3/8-inch steel for the brackets they have and they said they recommend using three brackets for each side. view full answer...
