You will not be able to open the trunk of your 2012 Audi A6 with a trunk rack like the Saris Bones part # SA805BL installed. The hinges aren't rated for the additional weight and the struts won't hold the trunk up either so it would come slamming down which would be dangerous, plus the clips that go over the trunk would get pinched as the trunk opens.
Only option is a hitch mounted bike rack which first requires a hitch like the part # C11423 to be installed.

Yes, the Curt hitch part # C11344 has been confirmed as a fit for all models of the 2011 Audi A6 so it would be a great option for your 2011 Audi A6 wagon.
For trailer wiring you would want the part # C59496, for a ball mount # 3593, 2 inch ball # 19258 and 1-7/8 inch ball # 19256. view full answer...
For your 2014 Audi A6 we have the Curt hitch part # C11423 that is a confirmed fit and would work well for carrying a bike rack. I attached a picture that shows the hitch installed on a similar 2014 Audi A6 as well.
Curt requires the use of their stabilizer strap part # 18050 when using their hitch to carry a non-supported load like a bike rack. I attached a review video for you to check for the strap as well.

We do have low-profile snow tire chains for your 2013 Audi A6. You can go with a cable design or a chain design. Cables are lower profile, easier to use, and are less-likely to damage your vehicle if they somehow come undone while driving. Chains on the other hand are thicker and more aggressive for heavier snow and also could potentially cause more damage than cables if they happened to break. That being said, I recommend going with a cable setup, but I will give you options for each style.

Your best option will be a Tekonsha # 119250KIT "Universal" wiring harness. However it's not something that we've been able to do a test install on and when I reached out to Teknosha directly they weren't able to confirm fitment, either. Most likely this will work but there aren't any vehicle-specific instructions available for this application.
I have included a link to this product page and a video review. view full answer...
The # C59496 does come with a set of instructions, but they are not vehicle specific. They are a generic instruction of how to install the part, but you will need to locate the proper wires in the trunk yourself. view full answer...
The Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow 7-, 5- and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector - Vehicle End - Ergonomic Design, # HM48470, can mount pretty much anywhere you want it to. The most common place is to the left (driver side) of the trailer hitch receiver opening. Based on the design of the trailer hitches for the 2009 Audi A6 Avant, if you were to install it on the bottom of the cross tubing of the hitch, it will be a little below the trailer hitch receiver opening. If this is too low, you can mount... view full answer...

Of the available choices, I can highly recommend the Thule OutWay, part # TH45JV.
What makes the OutWay stand head and shoulders over the other options is the way that the rack attaches to the vehicle. Instead of using 6 straps that need to be adjusted each time the rack is installed or removed, the OutWay uses only 2 rubber-coated straps. This unique system allows the rack to be installed... view full answer...
Here in America, we always have lower towing capacities that the same vehicles in Europe. It has to do with the sue-happy legal climate we have over here, so they rate vehicles extremely cautiously over here.
For a hitch for your 2005 Audi A6 we have the Curt hitch part # C11344 which has towing capacities of 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight. You would need to go by the lowest capacity between your vehicle and the hitch as the overall capacity. I can't recommend you ever... view full answer...
Your 2013 Audi A6 has trailer wiring circuits that are combined what use pulse width modulation on the same wire.
So according to Tekonsha when you install the # 119250KIT you need to attach the yellow wire of the kit to the brake/tail/left turn wire on the vehicle and the green to the brake/tail/right turn wire. The brown and red wires of the kit are not used. view full answer...
If the backup camera on your 2011 Audi A6 is a factory option you should have no issues with the Curt Hitch, part # C11344, interfering with the camera. Curt test fits all of the hitches that they release on each vehicle model to ensure that there are no issues.
Looking at the instruction for part # C11344, the hitch sits flush with the rear bumper, and more than likely will not even be detected by the backup camera.
I have linked instructions for the Curt Hitch, part # C11344, and an... view full answer...
You can use the ZCI harness # 119250KIT on your 2013 Audi A6. This is basically a universal harness that doesn't require splicing into the vehicle wiring so you can use it on your A6. view full answer...
I do have an option for you but all trunk mounted bike racks like the Thule OutWay 2-Bike Platform Rack part # TH65JV have a 33 lb per bike weight capacity. The cradles for each bike are only rated for 33 lbs so I cannot recommend you use it with a 40 lb bike.
If you cannot get the weight of your bike down to 35 lbs then your best option would be to place it on a hitch mounted bike rack, the Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Platform Rack part # KU64FR with a trailer hitch, the Curt Trailer Hitch... view full answer...
There are only 2 trunk mounted bike racks that are confirmed fits on your 2019 Audi A6 since there is not an aftermarket hitch option that would allow you to carry a hitch mounted bike rack. The best option would be the Malone Hanger Trunk Bike Rack for 3 Bikes - Adjustable Arms # MPG2139, which has adjustable arms to allow you to carry the bikes level and can hold up to 3 bikes. I really like that this comes with an integrated cable lock to keep the bikes secured to the rack.

For your 2008 Audi A6 I recommend the Thule OutWay # TH45JV. This carrier is rated for 33 pounds per bike.
I have an older version of this rack and it is by far the easiest trunk mount rack I have ever used. What makes it so easy are the 2 rubber coated straps it uses to attach to the vehicle rather than 6 straps like other carriers.
It also comes with locks for both the rack and the bikes. The arms of this carrier can move independently in and out, up and down to fit a wide variety... view full answer...
I contacted our representative at Curt about the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # 11344. He informed me that from the bottom of the receiver to the ground, there is 9 inches of clearance. The distance from the top of the receiver to the ground, will measure 10-1/4 inches.
The representative at Curt sent a picture showing the hitch installed on an Audi A6. I have used Photoshop to illustrate the ground clearance you will have with part # 11344 installed on your Audi A6.

For your 2004 Audi A6, I recommend the Tekonsha Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter Hardwire Kit with 4-Pole Connector (Includes Tester) # 119178KIT. This wiring harness will convert your trailer lights to function correctly with the running light wire (brown) and the brake/turn signal (green for right/yellow for left) and of course your ground wire (white). I've attached an article to assist in routing that 12V power wire. view full answer...
What is the purpose for the trailer hitch on your 2018 Audi A6? If it is to tow a trailer then this is not something we can offer as they do not make a trailer hitch that is a confirmed fit for your 2018 Audi A6 which includes the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11423.
If the purpose of the trailer hitch was to carry bikes on a hitch mounted bike rack then you could use a trunk mount bike rack like the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 3 Bike Rack for Vehicles w/ Spoilers part # HRF2-3... view full answer...
The lowest profile roof rack for a 2016 Audi A6 Sedan is the Inno Aero Crossbar System part # INXB100-108, part # INXS200, and part # INK412. This system sits about 3-1/2" to 4" from the roof to the top of the crossbar but it is hard to get exact measurements due to all the different roof shapes.
I have attached a photo of the Inno Aero Crossbar System installed on a different vehicle that way you can get a better feel for how tall it is. view full answer...
The Stealth Hitch you're referring to fits select models of the Audi A3. Unfortunately, nobody makes a hitch that will fit your 2019 Audi A6 Quattro. If you were planning to use the hitch for a bike rack, the only option would be a trunk mounted bike rack like the Malone Hanger # MPG2139
The other alternative would be to add a roof rack like the Thule WingBar Evo rack which consists of # TH711420, # TH710501, and # TH145202. This would allow you to carry a bike with a rack like the FrontLoader... view full answer...
