Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a look at this Putco 48 inch long Direct Fit Blade LED tailgate light bar. Now, this is a custom fit part that is designed to fit the 2019 and newer Ford Rangers that are equipped with the factory LED taillights. To confirm that this works for your vehicle, take advantage of our vehicle fit guide on our website, and input the year, make, and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will let you know if this will fit your vehicle. Now, this waterproof LED tailgate light bar installs in the gap on your tailgate, and it's going to provide auxiliary brake, tail, turn, and reverse lights. Now, as I already mentioned, this is indeed 48 inches long by 5/8 of an inch wide and 3/8 of an inch tall. And I already have this connected to 12 volt power, and the running lights are currently on, and the LEDs produce bright red or white light based on the signal that it is receiving, and the chip-on-board LED technology creates a bright, solid panel of light, and let me zoom in here for you on the LED chips.

Those LED chips are mounted close together for uniform, high-intensity light similar to a lighting panel. So obviously, I have my studio lights on currently, let me go ahead and turn those lights off, so you can get a better idea of what these running lights look like in the dark, and then I'm gonna also run through the other functions that this light bar provides as well. So again, we have our running lights, and then I'm gonna go ahead and activate the brake lights. So as you can see, the bar gets quite a bit brighter when you hit that brake pedal, letting folks know behind you that you hit that brake pedal and you are getting ready to stop. Now, let me walk through some of the other functions here, I'm gonna go ahead and connect this to our right turn signal.

So as you can see, that side, the right side gets brighter and flashes with your right turn signal, and then I'm gonna go ahead and move over to our left turn signal, so that works really well. And then let me go ahead and connect to our reverse lights, and as you can see, that is a cool, white color with an output of 3,000 lumens, and a temperature of 6,000 Kelvin, so that's gonna be great to let folks know behind you once again that you are going to reverse, and I think it's gonna also give you some light as well, so you can see behind you as you're backing up in low light conditions. Let me turn my studio lights back on and let my camera focus here. The sealed lens and the housing unit are waterproof with a IP69K rating, and what that means is this is going to stand up to severe environmental conditions and cleaning methods. The tinted polycarbonate housing provides a sleek look, and this is really gonna be a simple installation on your Ranger, it includes the automotive grade 3M tape and the clips, and then also, the quick-connect wiring harness that is going to plug in to your Ranger's existing light connections, so there's not gonna be any cutting or splicing of wires.

So again, a simple, easy installation, instructions are included to guide you step by step through the installation. So I'm a big fan of light bars such as these, not only are they practical, letting folks know who are behind you what your intentions are, whether you're hitting the brakes or backing up or making a turn, but also, it's a really cool addition to the back of your truck, and so, I think you're gonna be very happy with it, and again, I'm very impressed with not only the way that it lights up, the uniformity of the lights, but also, the simple installation.
