Video Transcript for Review of Lippert Components Trailer Leaf Spring Suspension - Equalizers - LC1565401

Today we're going to take a look at the Lippert Components Center Point by Trailair Air-Ride Suspension upgrade for triple axle suspensions. Now more than 85% of all the semi tractors that are out on the road today, they do have some kind of air- ride suspension like this. So you should think that maybe your towable RV should have that same kind of suspension or ride, and the answer is yes because you can now do it affordably using this system here. This is a center point air-ride suspension system. This will add the air-ride suspension to any RV or horse trailer. It will dramatically improve the ride and towing experience with the four airbag units that'll absorb road shock and reduce four and a half trailer movement known as chucking. These dual airbags' absorption replaces your standard trailer suspension.

This one here is designed for a triple axle trailer configuration. It does improve your ride, dampens the road shock, and will even improve braking in case of emergency stop. Now to install this, you must have a double-eye spring suspension on your trailer or RV. This part does include everything laid out here on the table. It includes two of the left hand, two of the right hand side center point sub-assemblies, 16 of the shackles, 16 of the bronze bushings, 36 of the shoulder bolts, 36 of the flange nuts, two of the clamp brackets, two of the link arms, four plates right here, and then they also give you two air gauge panels, these kits here that'll show how much PSI is in your bags, and also all the hardware. Now these panels do have a gauge in these boxes here that will attach here, and then it also gives you two rolls of 24 feet, each roll of airline tubing to hook up.Now also the easiest way to determine the proper air pressure for these air springs is you want to inflate them until these plates right here on the side are parallel, or if there's about five inches of space between them.

That'll give you a good idea of what to inflate them to. And they basically estimate about five PSI per 1,000 pounds of trailer weight. But that should do it for the review. On the Lippert Components Center Point by Trailair Air-Ride Suspension upgrade for triple axle suspensions.

The reason for the average rating is the shipping of the parts. E-trailer needs to change how these heavy parts are shipped. A cardboard box doesn't work. You can not depend on UPS or FEDEX to handle shipments with care. They think "Fragile" is a french word for throw and if the box is heavy it will get abused for sure. E-trailer was helpful with getting my parts that were missing from the busted up boxes but it was slow moving.
Now as for the parts, ( Not E-trailers fault)The ones that were laser cut needed work so we could get the shoulder bolts through the holes. One of the brackets was welded crooked.I am fortunate since I have a laser and deal with this everyday.
I also drew and cut my own gauge plate so I could mount both gauges to one plate. I appreciate all that were involved just hope you make changes to how these parts are shipped. I would recommend wooden crates and LTL shipping.
Tested the bags overnight and no leaks. Cant wait to see how my fifth wheelpulls and I hope I dont have screws and trim falling off my walls any longer!!! Ha HA

  • Comparing Roadmaster Comfort Ride to Air-Ride and Torsion Axles for Triple Axle 5th Wheel
The Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers # RM-2460-2570-3 is going to be the best upgrade option for your 5th wheel. This setup will create an independent suspension similar to torsion axles but with the added benefits of the shock absorbers. The Lippert Center Point by Trailair Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade # LC1565401 will keep your axles tied together through the equalizer, so you would lose that independent axle operation. These are also not compatible...

  • Availability of Lippert Center Point Air System for Trailer Suspension
We do have the Lippert Center Point system for both tandem axles # LC1565391 and triple axle applications # LC1565401. I've attached the installation videos of each system to assist you. I will email you the current stock availability as that changes day to day. You may also want to consider an air compressor like # AL25804 to give you adjustability for a smooth ride. I recommend this for the tandem axle system, but the dual path # AL25651 for the triple axle system.

The Lippert Center Point by Trailair Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade part # LC1565401 is compatible with nearly every trailer on the market. That said, if you want to do a bit of research to ensure a smooth installation that would be best. For starters, the system is designed for triple axle trailers with 1-3/4" wide leaf springs. The center leaf spring hanger must also be at least 3" or more wide and measure at least 2-1/2" from the center hole to the top where it mounts to the frame. This...

  • Can the Lippert Center Point by Trailair Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade Be Tied Into On Board Air
The Lippert Center Point by Trailair Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade part # LC1565401 won't really require frequent adjustments for most applications like a camping trailer. Once you find the sweet spot for the trailer you won't be adjusting that much aside from a few psi to maintain or if you adjust psi for empty/loaded towing. This is why there is no on-board air integration components with this kit. That's not to say this is not possible as they use standard 1/4" air lines and fittings but...

The Lippert Components Center Point by Trailair Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade # LC1565401 that you referenced does not come with a compressor as it's not typically used with an in-cab or trailer unit.
