The wire fishes for the mounting bolts saved the day, anyone who can’t figure out how to use them shouldn’t ever work on anything!
Even a 75 year old man laying on the streets of San Francisco can install this hitch. I know because I did it. (Ha)

by:

Well watched the video's and read the instructions, this is a 2 person job just don't have enough hands. I did install it in my drive way and ended up with my 2 grand children helping. after i was able to get 2 bolts in the rest went fairly easy.

the hitch worked as designed and if I needed another I would buy again

by:

Had no problem installing this hitch by myself on my new Toyota Tacoma. The hardest part was fishing the parts through the channel with the wires, but I eventually figured it out and got the victory. I'm happy with the install and with the hitch. Great company to deal with!

This is a great product and a great company. I highly recommend them.

by: 04/11/2024

Great service, good price, prompt delivery. Product was as expected. Some difficulty installing rearward bolts.

by:

The product shipped immediately and was given the tracking number. Nothing can beat free shipping.

The product by itself came in good packaging. It had all the needed bolts, nuts and washers. It also had the fish wire for fishing bolts through.

Good that they added detailed instructions. Best of all, this site(etrailer.com) has a video, video is really helpful. The video shows exactly how to do it, properly(Thanks guys for making the video). I have attached the pic of how I worked on my truck.

I would highly recommend this site/company. Will let my friends know.

Thanks once again.

2023 Toyota Tacoma

The fit is exact, and I mean exact. The holes light up perfectly, in fact so perfectly that if your alignment is off just slightly you will have a little difficulty in getting the bolts in. I used an atv lift to hold the hitch in place while I put the bolts in place. I should have video'd the proceedure but I didn't. The first thing was to get the wires in place for the two rear-most bolts so when I lifted the hitch in place the wires were already to go through their holes. Also, I cut the plates about in halt that go through the frame tubes in the truck because the length of the stock pieces were far too long to go through without a struggle. After I cut them in half (approximately) they went in quite easily and that made the procedure so much easier.

Extremely difficult to get the rear bolts threaded into position. That took an hour and a half! But once that was done, the rest was a breeze with my wife's help.

Fantastic. Heavy duty. Can take one hell of a beating. Recommend this forsure.

by:
2016 Toyota Tacoma

It was very simple

by:

Great product !!! Easy one person ( although a second set of hands wouldn’t hurt) very heavy duty and fit perfectly in the factory mounting holes. The only pain about installation is fishing the 2 bolts and washers inside the frame.. a little tricky.. but still not that bad..

by:

The website made it easy to order the correct hitch and it also contained a how to install video. My order was processed quickly and delivered on time. The hitch fit perfect and I was able to install it in an hour by myself.

by:
2016 Toyota Tacoma

I could not have been happier with the tracking and fast delivery time.
No question, hand down. The personalized ~ name of the employed by each step from ordering, shipping the hitch out the door, to asking my opinion of the product was impressive.

However, installing the darn stove bolt with the fish-wire sunk my opinion of the Product, which I would give a zero star if permitted.
Perhaps, with the truck on a lift and with practice, one could fish the bolt through the "spacer-plate." Problem being I did the work in the driveway in the sun, and I do not have the chill to fiddle with the confined space.
So, I gave up and took the plastic cover off the bumper step and manipulated the gosh darn (GD) thing from the hole at the top of the bumper with Kelly Forceps and needle nose pliers. Once I secured the plate in the vertical position, I was indeeed able to pull the bolt through the hole in the plate with the fish wire and push the bolt through the hole in the bumper on the.

I guess my lack chill was due to knowing this is the wrong approach to a "blind connection." The best bolt for the job would be a "Lin-Adapter" bolt, which is a type of expansion bolt.

Also, the rear 3/4" bolts really needed to be started with an open end/socket wrench. then driven home with a socket directly connected to the socket... no extensions.

Also, a set of "quick clamps" do aid in keeping the hitch in place to get the bolts started.

Perhaps if Curt industries uses my idea for the Lin-Adapter bolts they can rebate my cost for the hitch....then i would edit my review and give 5 Stars.

So far so good. Super easy install, quality looks excellent.

2018 Toyota Tacoma

The product looks amazing and it looks very sturdy, I noticed that the bar had a bit of a scuff mark on it. However, other than that it's still good and it will have Scuff eventually.

by:

I'm 100% satisfied with it. Was delivered in reasonable time. One thing was that it was a little difficult fishing the bolt through the metal tubing when installing, but I could position them properly and install everything properly. Torqued all the bolts to spec and it's very strong as you'd expect. I'm using it together with a Laren hitchlift. I run a rubbish hauling company and I use the Laren hitchlift when I get calls to haul appliances and the like.

Ive only been using it occasionally to mount a Larin Hitchlift. Its been working excellently, without any problems. Does what I expect it, very sturdy.

Toyota Tacoma

Only problem was the fishing the bolt/silver bar thru pipe on Tacoma. Thanks for the device to do it but it took longer than installing hitch and wiring all together.
Seems an excellent hitch.
It’s a hitch so no pictures.

High quality tow hitch after a year its has practically no wear at all. Extremely happy with my purchase.

by:
2021 Toyota Tacoma

This is a very well build and finished product - it exceeds the manufacturer's standards. What is also impressive is the exacting tolerances - this fit perfectly into the space between frame rails. I say again - perfect fit!

Install was easy - I they note that you sound deburr the factory bolts. Just tread a bolt into each nut and run it all the way in and back out before positioning hitch. Also, I left the fish wires on until the very last moment so that those bolts could not get bumped back into the bumper tube - this saved me some frustration so I had no issues. Easy peasy.

Still looks like new and performs as needed. Powder coat wipes off easily. I recommend that you oil the inside of the receiver pocket - not painted because of the fiction when you the receiver. This keeps it from rusting and makes it easy to wipe out periodically

I have attached for you below an install video of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13264 on a 2016 Toyota Tacoma. The front two attachment holes require fishwiring. This is standard procedure for hitch installation but the Tacoma can be tricky because the crosstube is too shallow to pull the bolt through the space while flat on the crosstube. Therefore, you'll need to fish the bolt through the spacer while inside the crosstube which you can see preformed in the video below.

  • Difference Between the Curt and etrailer Trailer Hitch for a 2022 Toyota Tacoma
